Study shows dramatic decline in effectiveness of all three COVID-19 vaccines over time
LA Times via Yahoo ^ | November 4, 2021 | by Melissa Healy

As the Delta variant became the dominant strain of coronavirus across the United States, all three COVID-19 vaccines available to Americans lost some of their protective power, with vaccine efficacy among a large group of veterans dropping between 35% and 85%, according to a new study.

Researchers who scoured the records of nearly 800,000 U.S. veterans found that in early March, just as the Delta variant was gaining a toehold across American communities, the three vaccines were roughly equal in their ability to prevent infections.

But over the next six months, that changed dramatically.

By the end of September, Moderna’s two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, measured as 89% effective in March, was only 58% effective.

The effectiveness of shots made by Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine, which also employed two doses, fell from 87% to 45% in the same period.

And most strikingly, the protective power of Johnson & Johnson's single-dose vaccine plunged from 86% to just 13% over those six months.

The findings were published Thursday in the journal Science.

The three vaccines held up better in their ability to prevent COVID-19 deaths, but by July — as the Delta variant began to drive a three-month surge of infections and deaths — the shots' effectiveness on that score also revealed wide gaps.

“No vaccine is 100%” and related blather from the usual suspects.

Brandon said “If you take one of these vaccines, you won’t get COVID.” I think he even prefaced it with “here’s the deal.” Of course, there are always exceptions, but it looks like he was about as correct on that as he is on most things.

>>> By the nine month mark, the Pfizer vaccine is no longer offering any protection whatsoever against symptomatic covid-19. <<<

This is what’s driving me nuts. These shots are NOT vaccines.

In addition, all people with compromised immune systems are advised to get a booster shot if it’s been at least 28 days since their vaccine took full effect.

A booster within 28 days of the last shot!? WTF? It’s 14 days for the shot to take full effect. So that’s a maximum effectiveness “window” of only 2 week. Fantastic.

"A strong argument for two or perhaps three boosters a year."

If your comment was sarcasm it was too subtle and it needed a "/sarc" tag.

If it was not sarcasm then be glad that God still loves idiots.

Perfect for continued profits from biannual booster shots.

Covid shots forever, or at least until they kill you.

With a 99%+ survival rate, I’ll take my chances with COVID.

The severity of the disease doesn’t warrant the response we are seeing. Something else is going on.

I find that /sarc tags ruin sarcasm, and aren’t needed for anyone with a sense of humor.

Just know whatever the government says is wrong, if you generally find yourself agreeing on here with government you may need to recheck your priorities

----///----

The only people that might have caught your "subtle sarcasm" are people who know you will on this forum. Everybody else, the leftists, the casual lurker, and whomever gets here from a search result link just thinks you support the useless and harmful clot-shot and endless boosters.

Sorry not sorry

A strong argument for two or perhaps three boosters a year.

I would say that it is a strong argument for abandoning this mRNA vaccination technique in favor of some other technology.

The weakness of the mRNA technology is that it teaches the immune system to recognize only one protein on the surface of the virus particle.

Traditional vaccines will provide recognition of 6 to 10 proteins.

Natural immunity will recognize 20 or more proteins after infection.

The strategy of the mRNA was that the body would have lasting immunity because after treatment the vaccinated individual’s own cells would continue to manufacture the spike protean at the vaccination site.

This strategy is a failure if the Flu virus no longer expresses that protein on its surface.

So they’re ineffective when it comes to Covid. Maybe they’re super effective in other ways — the primary reason they were created and are being forced on the citizens — tracking, etc. Covid was just the excuse for the needle rape.
