The town of Tinton Falls, N.J., has reelected 97-year-old Vito Perillo to his second, four-year term as its mayor.
"Thank you to my fellow residents for trusting me to lead Tinton Falls forward for the next four years. You may know that I am not a politician, but today I stopped to think about why people might vote for me. Maybe it’s because I’m a WWII veteran, or an 'old guy' (hopefully not), or maybe it’s because you read my flyer highlighting our accomplishments over the last 4 years,” Perillo wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday.
“My hope, however, is that it’s because you see that I care about our town and the people who live in it above anything else. I promise to do my best everyday to ensure every member of our community can be proud to live in Tinton Falls!,” Perillo continued.

Good for him I guess.

In that photo, he looks wonderful. Great posture, clear eyes—you’d never guess his age. I wish him well.
I have a neighbor who is 98. Same situation, doesn’t even have all-white hair. She seems to have all her marbles.

From article:
Four years ago, at the age of 93 and with no political experience, I decided to run for Mayor of Tinton Falls because I felt drastic improvements could be made to our great town. I have learned a great deal since becoming mayor, sometimes the hard way, but I am proud of what we have accomplished together. In addition to keeping my promises of lowering taxes and working with the police to streamline the department, I am most proud that our fantastic borough employees feel valued coming to work every day. The town is running like a fine watch, and I would like to humbly ask you to vote Vito, and my running mates John Manginelli and Lawrence Dobrin. Sounds like one of the good guys.

Great line!
But the way Vito looks and speaks, it’s worth taking a chance on the green bananas.

Love these kinds of stories.
We have a sweet lady at our church, 103 years old, and she teaches a Bible study group.

“Mr. Italy”
No, not him...he passed away in 2003. Although I’m pretty sure the commercials featuring him calling himself “Mr. Italy” continued to air long after that.

I guess he has more intelligence than Sleepy Joe!!
