WASHINGTON – Workers at larger businesses will have to get vaccinated for COVID-19 by Jan. 4, 2022, or face regular testing under new federal rules being released Thursday.
Workers who choose the testing option may have to bear the cost. They also will be required to wear a face mask on the job, beginning on Dec. 5.
The rules fill in the details for the vaccination requirement President Joe Biden announced in September for businesses with 100 or more employees.
The Labor Department is taking feedback over the next month on whether smaller workplaces should be included.
"COVID-19 continues to hold back our workforce and our economy – and it will continue to do so until more Americans are vaccinated," Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and Jeff Zients, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator, wrote in an opinion piece for USA TODAY.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirement also applies to state and local government workers in 26 states, including teachers and school staff.
Twenty-one of those states have the option of writing their own workplace rules for public and private sector workers. But those rules can’t be weaker than what the federal government is requiring – and must be adopted in 30 days.

The establishment lost in Afghanistan so they brought the war home and are now attacking Americans.

I get tested at Walgreens for free. These guys might have to pay? Sounds like a threat to me.
Covid is NOT “holding back” the workforce.
GOVERNMENT is.
All democrat taliban party voters are the enemy, folks.
The FDA approved (EUA) a t-cell blood test that shows if you have the immunity for a period of 6 months. Why wont they accept that test? the answer is, they want to make it as inconvient as possible to try and force people to get the clot shot.

“Workers who choose the testing option may have to bear the cost.”
Well, then we may have to sue for discriminatory treatment based on a pre-existing health condition...
I agree, and while this might be considered hyperbole or hysterical, I believe the signs are everywhere that the executive branch is out of control.
If Congress and the states don't stand up to this, this nation is gone. This is the biggest trial balloon they've ever floated, and if it stands, they'll stop at nothing to destroy everything else.
There have been A LOT, almost all of which have lost. Some were appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, but so far the Supreme Court has refused to take any of the appeals to trial.
There was one case where the judge ordered the Biden admin to not discipline some federal workers, but last I heard the Biden was ignoring her order, and the press has blacked any coverage of it out ever since.
Welcome to medical tyranny, it appears. The only thing that got this delay was some labor unions especially the truckers saying they would refuse to comply which would crush the economy right before Christmas. So workers revolting is all that’s left.
They announce this the day after the election coverage to change the narrative and also to not impact the election.
But Trump and the republicans are the tyrants, right?
It is interesting the SCOTUS is poised to allow expanded gun rights, but cut out health rights.
