Sports broadcaster Michele Tafoya joined The View‘s panel as guest host, but the other panelists were not ready to play ball with her. Almost immediately, the conservative TV personality was defending anti-vaxxers and pushing back against critical race theory, inciting a flurry of debates with Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and even Whoopi Goldberg.
As the moderator, Goldberg started today’s The View with a bit of an unusual disclaimer as she introduced Tafoya. “Just wanna let you know that, over the years, voicing our opinions at the table can be met with mixed reviews from the public,” Goldberg said. “I know you’re ready for this.”
Without a beat, Tafoya chirped back: “I am totally ready!”
The audiences and the other View hosts, on the other hand, were not quite ready for the bizarre talking points Tafoya brought to the table with reckless abandon. The first hot topic had absolutely nothing to do with the COVID vaccine — it was about Donald Trump participating in the controversial ‘tomahawk chop’ at an Atlanta Braves game — and yet, the sports broadcaster found a way to defend anti-vaxxers.
“I have a very, very, very close relative who went through COVID, had it, survived, it was difficult,” Tafoya began. “He is on the other end of it. He’s in his early 60s, big fella. He has more immunity than I do with my two shots. He doesn’t want to get a shot.”
“He doesn’t know how long that immunity will last,” Behar cut in.
“Well, neither do we with the shots. We really don’t,” Tafoya butted up against the host. “For the time being, can’t he just get tested? Can’t we just get tested?”
Not backing down, Tafoya continued to defend the anti-vax mentality, saying it she doesn’t think it “has to be one or the other,” and that multiple beliefs can exist when it comes to the science behind the vaccine. Instead, the guest host suggested, folks can just get tested every single day.
“Isn’t it easier just to get the damn shot?” Behar said, having none of the guest host’s antics.
“Well, it depends who you are! For you, maybe, but for other people — stick a finger up my nose, I don’t care,” Tafoya responded.
Going completely off the rails, Tafoya suggested that “the flu kills people too,” to which all four guest hosts immediately began to shut her down. “It’s not even close to being the same thing,” Goldberg said. “That’s not quite so.”
Closing out the vaccine debate, Behar subtly shaded the guest, asking her if she was vaccinated. The answer was yes, and Hostin clarified by saying that she wouldn’t be able to be in-studio if she wasn’t.
Matters only got worse with the guest host as the next hot topic rolled into the discussion. The discussion was about critical race theory — a topic that sparked debate with former guest host Condoleezza Rice — and from the start, it was clear that Tafoya would be a real firecracker on the matter as well. Behar began discussing the fact that folks are using critical race theory to spark culture wars, but Tafoya was non-plussed by the idea.
“But it’s not necessarily a culture war, Joy,” Tafoya said. “And I’m going to push back a little bit here.”
“Go ahead! That’s why you’re here,” Behar snapped.
“I’m here to be the odd man hated on the set,” Tafoya said, gritting her teeth.
The guest host then said her young children haven’t enjoyed “affinity groups” at school because they’ve been separated from their friends. “Why are we even teaching that the color of the skin matters?” Tafoya said. “To me, what matters is your character and your values.”
Goldberg was ready to shut the conservative host down without a beat.
“Yes, but you live in the United States. You know that the color of the skin has been mattering to people for years,” Goldberg began.
But she was quickly cut off by a persistent Tafoya, who begged, “Can’t we change it?”
“Well, we need white people to step up and do that!” Goldberg demanded.
“They’ve been doing that since the Civil War,” Tafoya said, eliciting an angered response from Goldberg. “I’m not saying they’re perfect.”
“No, no, no they haven’t!” Goldberg shouted. “Listen: when you have a country, or let’s talk about a state, where somebody can be hung from a tree and it’s okay? It was okay, it was okay in the South. People did it all the time. People would run you down, not that long ago. I love having this conversation because I feel like it’s important.”
Tafoya, who seemed to finally be listening to Goldberg, said some of the things made her “sick.” After Goldberg was done saying her piece, Behar continued to blast Tafoya.
“There seems to be this movement, on the right, to not talk about the history of the country,” she began.
“No,” Tafoya said. “I’m all about the history of the country.”
And with that, Goldberg wrapped things up and sent the show to commercial. Take a deep breath and gear up for tomorrow’s (Nov. 3) episode, because Tafoya will be rebounding her role as guest host.
Watch Tafoya’s first segment in the video above. The View airs weekdays on ABC at 11/10c.
I guess that’ll be her last appearance on “The View.”
The View - home of brain dead wonders spouting off at the top of their lungs.
They were outclassed.
She began her rebuttal by saying, ″Nigger, nigger, nigger, whitey, whitey, whitey. It takes a whole lot of (courage) to come out in blackface ... I don’t care if you don’t like it. I do.″

Date and location of the last time a race-based lynching was “okay”, Ms. Goldberg. Oh, and the political affiliation of the lynchers. Thank you.
Won’t be holding my breath for her response.
Wow! The designated punching bag hit back!
No wonder they were upset.
So. Whoopi thinks that black people are being “run down” by white people all the time. Lol.
They can’t handle the truth.
Bkmk
internal chat page at work....the Left actually believes this. they really believe police are conducting target practice on blacks.

Sorry, but this title did NOT match the exchange that took place. At the end she made sure that the other View members knew she was “Pro-choice” and that she and her family were vaxxed.
This exchange was Luke warm at best.
“Well, we need white people to step up and do that!” Goldberg demanded.
“They’ve been doing that since the Civil War,” Tafoya said,
Good comeback!
She got that right. Why anyone appears with these ignorant harpies is beyond me. And anyone who watches?!
What in hell are the other two creatures besides CRT mediots, on each side of the real woman.
