It looks like the Dems will pull this one out, but their win will be akin to King Pyrrhus of Epirus’ victory over the Romans at Asculum in 279 BC. Although the king won the battle, his losses were so great that he reportedly said, “another such victory and we are lost,” which gave rise to the term “Pyrrhic victory.”

The NRC should treat all of these races as competitive. I am as critical of them as anyone, but they brought their A game yesterday in Virginia with poll watchers AND teams of attorney’s ready to pounce on any shenanigans. It also makes me smile that there were many grassroots MAGA types in attendance as observers in addition to the GOPe watchers.
We should have done the same in NJ (obviously). The fact that this race was even competitive is shocking.

He lost because of a huge flood of Republican and independent voters out of New Jersey in recent years … who have been replaced by Democrats from New York.
Even if they have to “jackhammer the concrete” to get Jimmy Hoffa’s vote they would do it.
