New Jersey’s neck-and-neck gubernatorial race could head to a recount after the votes are tallied — as Democrat Phil Murphy and Republican Jack Ciattarelli remain in a dead heat the day after the polls closed, political commentators say.
“Every pollster was wrong. This is likely to be a recount race, either way,” former Garden State Gov. Chris Christie told TownHall early Wednesday.
“There’s a very legitimate chance Jack could win this,” he added.
In New Jersey, there is no automatic recount, but any candidate can request a recount within 17 days after an election by applying to a judge of the Superior Court that oversees the district or districts involved in the recount.

Probably because a recount would reveal they cheated.
Those were suppression polls. I didn’t decide to vote until the last two weeks.
Recounts are next to worthless. They only recount the same votes with no regard to the authenticity of any of the votes.
Only a forensic audit can uncover some truth. Even Arizona did not do a full forensic audit since they were not allowed to ask the voters questions in order to find vote that don’t belong.
By now anyone on this forum should know that “Recount” is nothing more than a buzz word designed to make you think the election was not fraudulent.
Why aren’t the Republicans generating fake ballots? Don’t they get it?
A race that clearly should not have been written off - little discussion of it yesterday - only an afterthought.
Always vote - no matter if the polls show your candidate way up, way down, or neck and neck. You never know what will actually happen. If as much attention had been paid to this race as it apparently deserved, this result could have been different than a narrow Dem win.
“Will a recount hurt or help Ciattarelli?”
It will help. But not by much. Deep state is trying to keep this one clean in repudiation of the lefts policies. Bergen County was good to Ciattarelli with additional cross overs down south.
This will wind up 50-49 Murphy. On a good note, rats should be worried sick.
Update
As of 9:56 a.m., Gov. Phil Murphy was leading Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli by just 1,408 votes after a pause in counting at 3 a.m. that saw Ciattarelli up front by 1,193 votes. But 158 of the state’s 6,348 voting districts were still missing from the totals.
Great gifs, especially the large one :)
Nothing will help Mitt Citarelli. Except maybe a realization that being Mitt a Romney means losing.
I’d anyone wants to know what Jack’s campaign was like, look at Youngkin’s and then pretend Youngkin did everything opposite of what he did to win.
Very disappointed in Somerset County which really has gone downhill with rat transplants in the last decade. Basically it is turning into a Democrat dump like Middlesex and Union.
That is doom porn—McAwful has conceded.
It is over.
Really.
Promise.
Stay away from the hard stuff and the drugs.
Yeah, the problem is that who does the auditing, just as who does the counting, makes a big difference. And as it seems there are few, if any, honest judges left, the dems will play their usual games, the media will carry their water, and the fraud and corruption will continue unabated.
It’s less about who than how.
Televise everything. Make it all transparent.
Nobody gets to hide jack spit.
Full forensic audit is the only issue, the only possible path to victory. We was robbed. Push hard.
;-)
Forget recounts. Thorough audit is needed.

Actually, the GOP did really well here reclaiming two county commissioners seats and romping in local elections as well. A ton of support for Trump here which makes me wonder if Jack insulting Trump voters was a good move.
