WHAT IS CRITICAL RACE THEORY?

Critical race theory is a way of thinking about America’s history through the lens of racism. Scholars developed it during the 1970s and 1980s in response to what they viewed as a lack of racial progress following the civil rights legislation of the 1960s.

It centers on the idea that racism is systemic in the nation's institutions and that they function to maintain the dominance of white people in society.

The architects of the theory argue that the United States was founded on the theft of land and labor and that federal law has preserved the unequal treatment of people on the basis of race. Proponents also believe race is culturally invented, not biological.

Kimberlé Crenshaw, executive director of the African American Policy Forum, a social justice think tank based in New York City, was one of the early proponents. Initially, she says, it was “simply about telling a more complete story of who we are.”

IS CRITICAL RACE THEORY BEING TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS?

There is little to no evidence that critical race theory itself is being taught to K-12 public school students, though some ideas central to it, such as lingering consequences of slavery, have been. In Greenwich, Connecticut, some middle school students were given a “white bias” survey that parents viewed as being part of the theory.

Keep in mind this article came out on November 2, 2021, the day of the election.

Clearly the media and Democrats were trying to run interference before the Virginia election to downplay the issue of Critical Race Theory in the Virginia election.

The upshot is fighting the Woke Cultural Wars as embodied by Critical Race Theory is not only possible but it is a winning strategy.

Should be called Communist Race Theory, designed to undermine America, its institutions and its history.

What a wonderful denouement. This refutation of CRT is akin to saying water is not wet.

The United States was founded on individual land ownership as a necessity for protecting family farms. Most American Indian tribes had no concept of individual land ownership. When Europeans imposed land office property registration Indians were the last to get the news.

In fact, Andrew Jackson’s Trail of Tears was the federal government’s method of removing Indians tribes which recognized individual land ownership via tribal registration, the so called “civilized tribes”. As the only race of people screwed over by this slaughter, American Indians are one of the races of people totally left behind in the remedies offered by Criminal Racist Theory.

That said, the truly amazing aspect of the American system is that it offers equal opportunities and equal legal standing to people of all races. And THAT is the problem to CRT pimps. Well at least it provides a crack for CRT advocates to drive a wedge into. If equal opportunity is allowed to prevail then losers will have to remain losers, and people can’t become successful simply by pimping jealousy and division.

I encountered “critical theory” as a doctoral candidate in the late 90’s when my dissertation committee demanded its use in historical research. Needless to say the committee became less collegial after my reaction to those demands.

CRT is really an attempt to explain why minorities as a group, principally blacks, do not excel economically in the society of American opportunity. Economic failure results in a host of other societal ills, such as criminal activity. CRT believes that all racial groups are equally capable on an even playing field and should perform equally to whites. They equate an uneven playing field to “white privilege”.

Upon examining the premise of equality of capability and the societal construct of the playing field, there are two possible conclusions, either the premise of equality of capability is false, or indeed the economic playing field is biased in favor of whites.

The elephant in the room says that much has been studied regarding the lesser innate intelligence of American blacks. The “Bell Curve” and other studied around the world have come to this conclusion. It does not mean the black Americans are less human or less valuable in the eyes of God. So I pose that the premise of equality of capability is false. Why should this not be possible? White men can’t jump.

The minority standing on the sideline only see the outcome of the creativity, dedication and hard work of those that choose to compete. He assumes that all those people have succeeded with capabilities similar to his. This is an error. But his conclusion is that the playing field must be tipped in favor of the whites. What to do?

The best revenge for minorities against White Privilege is to compete and succeed. If you believe that the "playing field" is not level then you have two choices, compete anyway and work even harder to succeed, or go find another playing field.

The other playing field would be to succeed within your own minority community. Black owned businesses in Black neighborhoods, buying from Black distributors and producers.

Minorities will never find a solution in expecting whites to tip the playing field in their direction. The two groups have a completely different view of the field of competition. I think that whites go about their lives competing on the field of life and don't even see the blacks on the sidelines. Blacks stand on the sidelines and have no idea how to get on the field. For some reason they think they need to ask permission of the whites to play?

Just step on the field and compete! Or don't. It’s up to you. But don't blame it on whites if you can't.

I went through all of my education in the deep, deep south. I was taught that:

Slavery is bad
The south had slaves
The south was the only people in the country who were prejudiced against blacks
The War for Southern Independence was fought over slavery (which can be argued from now till the end of time)
Abraham Lincoln was the best president ever and saved the country
Martin Luther King Jr was pretty much the second coming of Christ

What more do they want to teach? Isn’t that enough?
