Democrat Ed Gainey became the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. “Look at the image we are showing our children,” Gainey said to the crowd at the downtown Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. “I want our children to see a city for all of them,” The Associated Press reported.
He had consistently made his campaign about equality for Black and poor residents, and accused Peduto of failing to ensure equity in policing, housing and other areas. At one point, he called Pittsburgh “a tale of two cities,” according to The Associated Press.

I believe Pittsburgh was where that land whale stepped out of the freak parade to drink the white peoples’ beer (they were “outdoor dining” due to the plandemic). That probably doomed the restaurant, if not the whole city.
And do not forget about twerking videos. They will sky rocket
This is going to be interesting going forward.
First black mayor or not, it’s still downhill for Pittsburgh because he’s a Democrat and there’s just no such thing as a Democrat politician improving things.
I remember the first black mayor of New York City, David Dinkins (democrat).
Just before him was the Ed Koch administration. Despite Koch’s press releases on how he was doing a good job, under Ed Koch the city continued to crumble, political corruption still ruled, and race relations was at the bottom.
New york city voters thought by replacing Ed Koch with a black guy, race relations would improve at the very least.
Dinkins proved to be much worse than Koch. Crime still rose to new heights as he practically handcuffed the cops and the street Al Sharpton type racial arsonists were allowed to rule the streets with impunity which resulted in alot of injuries and a few deaths. After only 1 term, Dinkins was kicked out by the voters and replaced with Rudy Giuliani.
The over/under on the first corruption charge??
The spiral will now accelerate.
Congratulations Pittsburgh.
I have family members living in the suburbs there and they are truly upset about his win. The new mayor won’t be what those who voted for him wanted anymore than Biden’s proved to be what people wanted.
.......”The spiral will now accelerate”.......
You can bet on it....
Well it’s going to head in that direction for sure now.
Well it’s a city I don’t want or like to visit. Have turned down many invitations there as I’m not like the people there so little in common on even general conversation. If you’re an outsider they tend to label you as that.
You can never get lost in the Burgh. You are either on a bridge or a hill.
