Day one of jury selection for the Kyle Rittenhouse trial started with a game of Jeopardy as Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder acted as host in an icebreaker of sorts for potential jurors on Monday.
Out of 150 potential jurors, the final juror number will be 20 for the actual trial. Potential jurors were excused for a variety of reasons, such as not living in Kenosha County anymore or in the case of one man, having a preplanned and prepaid trip to Poland this Friday.
Judge Schroeder said he was not attacking the media, but he noted there have been instances where stories were written about the Rittenhouse trial by people who knew nothing about the case.
"The price we pay for having a free press is a lot of irresponsible and sloppy journalism," he explained, adding some "reputable" news outlets have been sloppy in their reporting of the case while others have been "perfect" in their reporting.
The reason why Schroeder brought up the media's reporting about the shootings is because he wants the jurors who are picked for the trial to solely focus on the evidence presented and not what they have heard or read about the case beforehand. Schroeder also reminded potential jurors the right to a fair trial, like freedom of the press, is an important right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
"This is not a political trial," Schroeder insisted when a man said he could not be impartial because of comments he previously made on social media and due to his strong belief in the Second Amendment. After further questioning by Schroeder, the man said he was too biased and was excused from the jury pool.

Then why doesn’t he dismiss the charges and tell folks to play their media circus somewheres else!

Can we all agree that Rittenhouse’s life was worth more than the rioters desire to cause havoc?
Because he is wise enough to know he needs to let this thing play out. He also knows ultimately how it will turn out.
It clearly IS a political trial.
Rittenhouse should have never been charged. Shooting a bunch of murderous bastards chasing you in an attempt to kill you is not a prosecutable offense.
Only in the mad, pro-crime mind of the deranged DA could such charges have been brought.

Final prosecutor opening statement;
Binger: You will hear from FBI individual in plane taking infrared and shows defendant chasing Rosenbaum and initiating the confrontation.
Binger: You will hear more about Rosenbaum from his girlfriend.
Binger: Will hear Huber was a skateboarder, lived for that, knew Jacob Blake personally, wanted to show support for Blake, his friend. Will hear what sort of person he was.
Binger: Will here from law enforcement who did the investigative work to develop evidnece against defendant. Will hear from the doctor, and will hear that shot that killed Rosenbaum was a shot to the back.
Binger: And I think you will agree defendant is guilty of all these charges.

I think you are right. He’s preparing those that want Kyle’s head on a pike for a not guilty verdict.
This is very similar to the Zimmerman trial, but even more clearly in favor of the defendant. And they only brought that case because they politically HAD TO, knowing full well they almost certainly could not win.
Add to that the fact that this one does not involve the shooting of members of a protected race, and this should go down quieter.
Don’t know. I know there were four quick shots and they entered in weird places, I would imagine after the first shot, Rosenbaum was probably reeling and twisting/falling etc

That one concerns me a little.
Rosy was near Kyle, but there was someone else firing from below their position, but is obscured by the cars on the lot - can see smoke and hear shot but that’s all.

The jury will be well aware that left will go after they and their families if they don’t vote against Kyle. Yet the jury is under no threat from the right for taking the safe road, and voting to hang Kyle. I am afraid the the same thing will happen here as what happened to that cop in the Floyd case.
The justice system is no longer about justice.
If the FBI was observing without bias, they would release the names and charges against the BLM/Antifa Rioters and Looters prosecuted using the same airborne infra red FBI video as evidence.
There would be dozens of cases and dozens arrested.
If not, I would view the FBI testimony as evidence of witness tampering and obstruction of justice, and acquit Rittenhouse.
