HONG KONG (AP) — Yahoo Inc. on Tuesday said it plans to pull out of China, citing an “increasingly challenging business and legal environment.”
The company said in a statement that its services will no longer be accessible from mainland China as of Nov. 1.
“Yahoo remains committed to the rights of our users and a free and open internet. We thank our users for their support,” the statement read.

I’ve already seen massive changes to the internet. It used to be a free forum for free citizens. You take the good with the bad, but how bad can it be? It’s only information. But eventually the only thing that won’t be censored is pure government propaganda and entertainment meant to keep you stupid.
The free and open Yahoo! has suspended article commenting, BUT their goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. Some contradictions in these statements somewhere.
