Self-ownership & the right to reject the Pharma-State's hemlock Ilana Mercer: The GOP's case against COVID mandates indirectly capitulates to coercion

Bodily autonomy, self-determination and self-ownership: Were our representatives to frame the vexation of vaccine mandates in the correct language of natural rights – we'd get the right answers, more likely to be followed by rights-upholding legislation.

But are Republican representatives doing so? Are our representatives who art in D.C. doing anything but wait in Tucker Carlson's green room?

When it comes to COVID-19, only the following arguments are permissible as an objection to the vaccine mandate. "Exemptions from employer-mandated coronavirus vaccines [are] in [these] three general areas":

natural immunity religious objection medical objection One hears also a perfectly calm case being made on the left for outcome-based coercion: "rights-violations work well to bring about vaccine-compliance, so let's violate us some rights."

As an objection to the COVID vaccine, nowhere is a rights-based argument being made, or an argument based on the right to question the safety of a vaccine being advanced by the covidiots who lord it over us or claim to represent us. Again, "Exemptions from employer-mandated coronavirus vaccines are in three general areas" only – but individual sovereignty, self-ownership, is nowhere mentioned.

Indeed, Republicans prattle about religious exemptions (state granted!) and natural-immunity based exemptions (state granted!) – but they have not the vaguest urge to defend the natural, God-given right of self-ownership.

Exactly my argument from day one. My exemption? I don't want the shot. Simple as that. No state approved exemption involved. Sort of like "needing" a CCW. State approves my carrying a weapon even thought the 2nd amendment is pretty dang clear. Thanks Ilana. Sadly, deaf ears. "My body my choice!" need not apply.

These Marquess of Queensberry Republicans will be the death of us.

"Well, we've lost the last 10 national elections and the Republic is toast but, by golly, we sure showed the other side how to play fair!"

Vaccine ratings -

Scrolling down about six mouse clicks to see vaccine ratings
by the statistician known as William Briggs:

It’s noteworthy that newer, conventional, but not available in the USA “inactivated vaccines” are become available (just not here) in some countries.

My question as well. Why isn’t there just a plain old civil RIGHT not to be forced to take any vaccine, period. No applying for an exemption, just NO, end of conversation.

Frustrating eh. They’ll have to drill way down the coercion well but may get to us eventually. Social security, Medicare, VA care...... Sooner or later they’ll find that last nerve. Sounds sort of like taxation with ZERO representation. 😕

I used to think that was the problem. Now I believe the GOP is full of amoral narcissists who used the party label to get elected in conservative districts/states. I also believe the 15% of Republicans who still possess conservative instincts are operating under continual threats of violence or false allegations by corrupt Federal judiciary/law enforcement. There are lines they will not cross - even when an appropriate response seems obvious to the base.

GOP office-holders' reaction to vast evidence of 2020 election fraud indicates to me that most elections - even primaries - are now pre-arranged. It's easy to pass it off with comments like "Well, they hated Trump, too!" and no doubt many of them did - but it is the risk of exposing how elections are really conducted that keeps them too terrorized to move.

Josh Hawley's argument with Merrick Garland the other day seemed like an example of repressed frustration - Hawley knew his statements would do the GOP no good - Garland just played dumb knowing the story would disappear from the news cycle almost immediately. They all play their roles, but certain lines are never crossed.
