Health Freedom Alabama was officially organized in late August, but already it's accepting nominations for the dubious "Tar and Feather Award" it plans to give out to lawmakers who "seek to destroy liberty and freedom."
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey is a leading candidate.
The governor's executive order issued Monday on vaccine mandates has roiled conservative members of her Republican Party's base, who are charged up over what they see as an overreach of federal authority with vaccine mandates. Those critics claim the order lacked teeth and does not go far enough in fighting President Joe Biden's sweeping mandates that are effective on December 8 and applies to employees who work for a business with 100 or more workers.
Groups like Health Freedom Alabama blasted Ivey's order for not doing "anything at all".
"I know a lot of people in the state are very disappointed" said Kaycee Cavender, co-founder of Health Freedom Alabama, a non-profit group that opposes vaccine mandates and is pushing for state legislation that prohibits employers from pushing them. "She used the executive order as a PR stunt."
Mat Staver, a conservative activitist and founder of the Liberty Counsel agreed it wasn't enough. "The governor and those who are opposed to banning vaccine passports in the current environment need to wake up and talk to the people being affected," he said....

"its time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks not the regular folks"
is trying to look like she opposes coerced vaccination but comes up with a charade.
Maybe the governor needs to be known as "Poison Ivey".
Governor Ivey made the:
“unvaccinated folks and normal folks”
comment back on July 22nd just over a minute into this video you have to bring your volume up but you’ll get it...

Governor MeeMaw needs to be primaried...
The thing we conservatives know about Kay Ivey is that she is not one of us. She is a RINO and it shows.
Ping to the state list.
You knew I was a snake before ...
Grandma Ivey sucks. I very much dislike her. She is stack on serving the Montgomery to Birmingham corridors. Screw the NA and SA areas.
Vote no on grandma Ivey.
Not sure what conservatives in Alabama were thinking when they nominated a woman for governor. Now we have Ivey joining Noem with fake executive orders to try to fool their voters, and we’ve also had Haley and a bunch of others. Yes, there are men who are RINOs too (plenty of them), but not ALL men.
You and I disagree a lot, but I agree 100% here. Women governors are compromisers, conformists, and generally feel their way along. Not what we need here with an overreaching Federal government taking our right to choose and our jobs away by mandating an experimental gene therapy.
Thanks! Yea, I’m trying to think of a woman in ‘power’ worth respecting, either running a large corporation, as governor, or in the Senate, but I’m really hard-pressed to come up with any examples - ok, one example, Marsha Blackburn, yet we have half a dozen women Senators (seems evenly split between Leftists and those who ‘hide in the crowd’). I have to get into the House to find any other decent elected Republicans.
Painful.
“Normal” people are the genetically modified trans-human freaks?
Let’s drive her out Alabama!
