McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma ended a six-year moratorium on executions Thursday, administering the death penalty on a man who convulsed and vomited as he was executed for the 1998 slaying of a prison cafeteria worker.
John Marion Grant, 60, who was strapped to a gurney inside the execution chamber, began convulsing and vomiting after the first drug, the sedative midazolam, was administered. Several minutes later, two members of the execution team wiped the vomit from his face and neck.
He was serving a 130-year prison sentence for several armed robberies when witnesses say he dragged prison cafeteria worker Gay Carter into a mop closet and stabbed her 16 times with a homemade shank. He was sentenced to die in 1999.
“At least now we are starting to get justice for our loved ones,” Carter’s daughter, Pamela Gay Carter, said in a statement. “The death penalty is about protecting any potential future victims. Even after Grant was removed from society, he committed an act of violence that took an innocent life. I pray that justice prevails for all the other victims’ loved ones. My heart and prayers go out to you all.”

It’s entirely possible that the vomiting was due to anxiety created by the knowledge that he only had seconds to live rather than by the drugs - not that I give a damn whether he vomited or not.
And child molesters
I seriously want firing squad. More like stoning, less trauma for the guys doing the executing.
How you know this?
Has anyone ever had a pet euthanized where the process was anything but a quiet & calm event (once the jab was administered)?
Why can’t we use the same method for these death-row guys?
Use Nitrogen and give the condemned the option to donate their organs. We kill pigs with nitrogen. If it’s good enough for a pig, it’s good enough for a convicted murderer.
male AND female child molesters
OSHA data sheets on nitrogen environments.
People have been subject to the high nitrogen environment just passed out. After they were rescued and resuscitated, they stated that there was no awareness of their danger and they just went to sleep. Others who had longer exposure we dead in just a few minutes.
Pity it was not the AP vomiting on the gurney in fictional reaction to the death inducing drugs
Very interesting. Thanks.
Yes. No exceptions.
