McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma ended a six-year moratorium on executions Thursday, administering the death penalty on a man who convulsed and vomited as he was executed for the 1998 slaying of a prison cafeteria worker.
John Marion Grant, 60, who was strapped to a gurney inside the execution chamber, began convulsing and vomiting after the first drug, the sedative midazolam, was administered. Several minutes later, two members of the execution team wiped the vomit from his face and neck.
He was serving a 130-year prison sentence for several armed robberies when witnesses say he dragged prison cafeteria worker Gay Carter into a mop closet and stabbed her 16 times with a homemade shank. He was sentenced to die in 1999.
“At least now we are starting to get justice for our loved ones,” Carter’s daughter, Pamela Gay Carter, said in a statement. “The death penalty is about protecting any potential future victims. Even after Grant was removed from society, he committed an act of violence that took an innocent life. I pray that justice prevails for all the other victims’ loved ones. My heart and prayers go out to you all.”

Another victim of the racist justice system! Now he won’t be able to teach Sunday school anymore or finish his associates degree. He was just turning his life around!

One year after the headline that suggests somehow it was unfair because it happened so long ago. What was unfair was the dirtback was allowed to consume oxygen for an additional 22 years after the sentence was handed down and the number of lawyer fees it generated. He should have been strapped to the gurney within a fortnight given the circumstances.

130 years for several armed robberies? Murderers get less than that.
This is why you dont do life sentences, you execute murderers and attempted murderers.

You have to keep an eye the Oklahoma prison system. Many years ago a man we all knew murdered two people over in Oklahoma.
He was sentenced to death. Several weeks after the sentence was supposed to have been carried out they realized they had forgotten all about his execution date. So they resentenced him to life in prison.
Since these idiots chose to insult the dead and God himself by allowing this murderer to live, they personally, should be made to pay the victims’ families a million $$ each. That would only be a token start but a good one.
It would’ve been ok with me for Ted Bundy to have gone the same way this fella did. Guillotine would’ve been fine too, I guess.
