All across the country, parents are increasingly making their voices heard on a range of subjects at school board meetings.
Speaking before the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education, mother Lauren Roupoli addressed her concerns about a mask mandate in what’s being described as a “fiery speech” that directly named some on the board.
“We are vocal because we are our children’s biggest advocates,” Roupoli said, according to Fox News.
While the meeting’s attendees applauded the speech, Marlys Davidson, the California board’s president, had a different reaction that was picked up on a hot mic: “f*** you.”
She later apologized for the comment.
“When members of the public address the Board of Education, they must be heard with respect,” Davidson said, according to KTLA. “I reaffirm my commitment to serve our community with dignity and integrity, and I hope they will accept my sincere apology.”

Many school board members are seeking higher offices. I know of at least 3 school board members who went on to the city council in a sizable city in California. They are only the ones I have noticed and I am sure if I were to look harder I would find more examples.
You do that again and I’m suspending you.
School board is the launching pad for many political careers.
The fact that school boards have been exposed as being so liberal, even in Red areas, should be of concern.
I disagree. The Feds are going to keep it up until a parent kills a school board during the meeting. Then we will be “terrorists” and the full weight of the Feds will come down.
I am glad they are outing themselves.
Good is fortunate that Evil is usually not too bright.
Additionally, that whale of a woman, Jodi Sapp, asking for the address should be given her address when asked. Sapp’s reaction would make for good video. If she gets angry and says it’s her address, she outs herself. If she gets scared and says nothing, she won’t ask for addresses anymore.
Imagine if all the resources spent trying to fundamentally change our schools being done in secret and behind our backs were actually put into giving our children an education?
That will happen when competition is introduced into the system via vouchers and choice.
90% of who and what a child becomes as an adult is formed by the fifth grade, or around age ten. Their habits, and choices are solid by then. Good, bad, or indifferent.
If you are bright there are easier ways to get ahead by applying your talents to doing stuff others are willing to pay for.
It’s where that Poli Sci degree gets put to use for OJT to learn the “business” of campaigning and politics.
Only a right wing terrorist talks that way.
More and more seems like "fiery speech" isn't going to make a difference with these school boards.
So how to make a difference?
Simple, what one word strikes fear into a politicans heart?
Recall.
Simply go to your county website and find out the exact number of signatures needed.
Open up your speech with, “ XXXX, I want you to remember this number. This is the number if signatures it will take to fire your ass.”
