A name change can’t erase the evil Facebook released
NY Post ^ | 10/25/2021 | Matt Purple

Mark Zuckerberg emerged from his walk-in T-shirt closet last week to make a stunning announcement: Facebook will be changing its name. And while we don’t yet know what the new name will be, I think I may be able to help here. How about this: Boomerware? Or in keeping with Silicon Valley’s penchant for trendy misspellings: LyfeSuck? Or instead of a name, there’s just the sound of Rome burning?

The reason that “Facebook” is getting retired, per Zuck, is that he wants to “transition from people seeing us as primarily being a social media company to being a metaverse company.”

What that means is that he’s trying to distance himself from Facebook and Instagram, the very brands he owns. The reason is that those brands have become synonymous with privacy violations, self-harming video challenges, conspiracy theories, bullying, riots, insurrections.

A good Vegas bender, in other words, though less healthful as social fabric.

Facebook as we understand it today wasn’t really launched until 2006, when it introduced the news feed and nearly melted down the Internet in the process. The initial feed didn’t just show you posts; it featured a kind of stock ticker that cycled through what your friends had liked, whom they’d friended, almost every action they’d taken. It was so invasive that, in one of the more blatant foreshadowings of the social media age, hundreds of thousands of users threatened to boycott Facebook.

Facebook later apologized and axed the ticker. Yet a formula had been established, one in which personal developments were treated as news, and correspondingly news was defined down into the realm of the personal. This was to become one of the defining features of 21st-century life. Social media evolved into a kind of window onto the world. Instagram influencers were the new headline-grabbing celebrities.

Zucker SAYS.....he wants to “transition from people seeing us as primarily being a social media company to being a metaverse company.”

In Reality he’s using this to escape responsibility by calling it something different than it is. Typical for Demorats to create or rearrange language to avoid scrutiny. So what the heck is a “meta verse” company????

Facebook stated in an Oct. 17, 2021, press release that the metaverse is “a new phase of interconnected virtual experiences using technologies like virtual and augmented reality. At its heart is the idea that, by creating a greater sense of “virtual presence,” interacting online can become much closer to the experience of interacting in person.”

How a capitalist system can spawn companies controlled by small men who have morphed into autocratic communist fascist dictators who want to control the world

This sounds to me like the next step in keeping people hogtied to the internet even greater than what they already are. The idea is to give people a greater sense of personal engagement with one another....one can “feel” the senses etc.

I can see people eventually ‘locked into’ doing everything on line rather than meeting and enjoying people in person.

I guess that Правда and Известия are taken. Too bad, eh, Suckerbag. Perhaps he could try Völkischer Beobachter or Il Popolo d'Italia del Mondo. The last two are no longer in use, but afford some 'continuity' to times that Suckerberg doubtless admires.

Enjoy the life you currently lead, Suckerbag. It's the best it will ever be, for you. Your eternity looks hot and sulphurous.

no mention of FB’s interference in the 2020 presidential election?

the following may not acknowledge all the fraud, but Levin does a brilliant job on the FB aspect:

first 13m42s:

Bitchute: LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN 10/17/2021
https://www.bitchute.com/video/3PaPm7UGQXOo/

Levin mentions MSM are not even supposed to talk about the shenanigans of the 2020 election. it’s taboo.
in Australia, his show from the previous week is repeated just before Watters World but, this past weekend, there was a change. Fox slotted in Gutfeld instead.

That about sums it up.

He's seen how Amazon has succeeded with their in-home surveillance hardware, and he wants to go there.

This strikes me as similar to Comcast rebranding themselves as Xfinity because the Comcast name was so sullied and synonymous with terrible customer service.

That is a result of trademark law and has been around for 100+ years. Nothing SV specific.

I think sure there’s a lot of blowback on just about everything they do but word on the street is that they’re hiring like crazy to build a VR platform. Sure they’ve got occulus already but they are building something beyond that as their Next Big Thing.

If anyone saw the cult movie Videodrome of the 80s with Deborah Harry - let’s just say if you think what they do now is bad...

The thought occurred to me last night, that maybe the internet is destroying the world.

Television started out with such great promise too.

There were going to be “universities of the air”, you could learn at home! TV would make society smarter!

Instead we wound up with crap like “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, “The View”, and MSNBC ... programming that makes people DUMBER.

Social media started out promising too ... now it’s just a haven for leftist bullies and government shills

Well even the workplace and education is moving to in home in many cases...especially office type positions. Retails on line and many others.

It’s actually positioning itself, under a few, to one day be a way of controlling commerce entirely....whoever handles the cash flow and media controls the world.
