An “absolutely devastated” Alec Baldwin is pulling the plug on his other work projects after last week’s movie-set mishap that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
A source close to the 63-year-old actor told People magazine that the actor “is canceling other projects” and plans to “take some time to himself and re-center himself” after last week’s shooting on the New Mexico set of “The Rust.”
“This is how he handles difficult times,” the source said. “Whenever something bad happens, in the short term, he removes himself from [the] public eye.

“Whenever something bad happens, in the short term, he removes himself from [the] public eye.”
Wish he’d do that for the long term. He’s an angry, deplorable bully who has been a menace for decades.
Does this mean Alec Baldwin has a conscience?
A conscience?
No.
A wallet.
That he loves so much he will duck out of the limelight he so desperately craves for his ego.
I’m inclined to think it’s a PR move.
I read earlier that he’s been semi active on Twitter- after his first tweet about his shock and his sorrow he RT an article favorable to him about the shooting not being his fault. Then be started “liking” various tweets about politics, basketball etc. Life goes on stuff. Very poor taste- but it seems in keeping with his personality.
nope
hes cutting non-essential things from what he has to deal with right now
its what anyone in his spot would do
there is not a surprise
Since he was the perp in the shooting as well as the producer of the movie he was filming, I wonder if he is shutting down his other projects because he’s now uninsurable.
He’s taking time off to work on his aim so he can shoot 3 people at once instead of 2 🤪
To spend more time with his lawyers.
And to avoid chances to say or do things that could weaken his legal position.
Hey Alec, remember the MASH Theme?
Yeah, that.
Baldwin has to stay out of prison first, then maybe stay solvent. Pretty much everything else is a distant second, and no, conscience has nothing to do with any of it.
“And to avoid chances to say or do things that could weaken his legal position.”
True. The last thing he needs is something like: “Knife being held by Alec Baldwin kills key grip on set. Police mystified.”
Alec Baldwin, Killer.
Yeah, Alec, like there would be a path for you to put this one behind you and finish your other projects.
Kinda thinking John Hinckley has a better chance of getting to produce and act than you do. No more Twitter for you. No more publicized rants.
Kinda wondering. Where does a killer go to find his center?
“Whenever something bad happens,...”
Huh? What a passive phrasing....no accountabilty.
HE FRIIGEN KILLED SOMEONE!
Worlds hugest bestest ass.
He’s going to dress up like Trump and see if he can get away with shooting someone on 5th Avenue
Yeah, but it also means he is toxic right now and anything he touched would crash and burn. Plus he is going to have negative press until the legal and lawsuits are finished which will be years.
Various websites have his net worth pegged at $60 million. That is a lot of money but he is going to have to start spending it for his legal fees. And more than likely for settlements in the upcoming lawsuits.
Or getting baited into saying something incriminating. Baldwin’s conduct seems contrary to safety protocols and good sense in that he fired the gun while a scene was being set up. That can easily be seen as reckless horseplay. Any explanation will have to be closely parsed in a formal setting instead of delivered off the cuff to a friend or a reporter. Given the ambiguous circumstances and Baldwin’s record of an undisciplined mouth, his lawyers must fear that he could easily talk himself into prison.
He still hopes to savage his filmmaking career, but it is over.
