New Facebook whistleblower emerges with explosive claims on hate speech

There’s more trouble in Zuck-town.

A new Facebook whistleblower has reportedly emerged, dishing to US regulators that an official at the social network in 2017 blew off concerns about hate speech as a “flash in the pan,” adding that while “some legislators will get pissy” Facebook is “printing money in the basement.”

The new whistleblower told the Securities and Exchange Commission under penalty of perjury that the company has constantly shrugged off concerns about hate speech and misinformation in pursuit of growth, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

Like Frances Haugen, another former Facebook employee-turned-whisteblower who testified in Congress earlier this month, the new whistleblower is reportedly an ex-member of the company’s “integrity team.”

The new whistleblower, whose name has not been disclosed, reportedly told the SEC that Facebook executives undermined attempts to fight misinformation and hate speech during the Trump administration because they thought such efforts would slow the company’s growth — and because they were afraid of the president and his political allies.

Facebook leadership also had a blasé attitude about legislators’ efforts to investigate the company, according to the report.

“It will be a flash in the pan. Some legislators will get pissy,” Facebook communications official Tucker Bounds said in 2017, according to the reported whistleblower. “And then in a few weeks they will move on to something else. Meanwhile we are printing money in the basement, and we are fine.”

A source who worked at Facebook at the same time the whistleblower was there told The New York Post that the alleged quote from Bounds sounds accurate.

“That’s how Tucker talks,” the former employee said. “The Tucker quote, as much as I disagree with it, really does reflect the attitude during 2017.”

Bounds and the SEC did not immediately reply to requests for comment.

Yeah, you think they would be smarter. I think their ideology limits their thinking. We may have found their Achilles’ heel!

they allow true hate speech such as anti-Semetism on twitter and facebook, and downright hateful blm posts, but they are upset because Trump was mean to soemoen who constantly attacked him day in and day out verbally?

Facebook really are a bunch of whiny, hypocritical, selective censoring liberals apparently-

they allow true hate speech such as anti-Semetism on twitter and facebook,

Really? That's hard to believe.

For years, the ADL pressured Twitter to censor "hate speech." Twitter caved in 2016 when it allowed the ADL to "help Twitter" organize its "Trust & Safety Council."

The ADL took credit for bringing censorship to Twitter in their press release: ADL Welcomes Establishment of Twitter Trust & Safety Council

In 2017, the World Jewish Congress pressured Amazon to deplatform "hate books." Until then, Amazon proudly listed every book ever published.

The WJC took credit for bringing censorship to Amazon in their press release: WJC welcomes Amazon move to remove Holocaust-denial books, offers assistance in identifying further material

In 2015, Jewish leaders from around the world met in Israel to brainstorm ideas on how to censor the internet: Government anti-Semitism conference endorses net censorship

Sorry, but while some individual Jews support free speech (e.g. Dennis Prager), Jewish organizations have led the way in censorship and deplatforming. Of course, once they got the ball rolling, Muslims, trannies, and many other groups got on board. And now many of them are fighting each other, and the Jews, over who is the greater victim of "hate."

pure deflection.

meanwhile, crickets about Zuck’s interference in the 2020 election.

the trivial Zuck/Cambridge Analytica nonsense is still in the news, yet the 2020 Presidential election saga has barely been reported.

instead, it’s these phony whistleblower stories sucking all the oxygen out of the FakeNewsMSM rooms.

Since when has conservatism been preoccupied with things like “hate speech”? That’s the job of liberals and their social justice warriors. Unless it’s to point out the double standards they seem to expect for themselves, why bother pretending to care what some hypocrite says or writes? You don’t want to give the impression that you’re just as concerned about the use of “hate speech” as the rest of them. Otherwise, the more sincere conservatives will mistake you for a social justice warrior. Conservatism doesn’t promote hate but it does seem reasonably tolerant of an individual’s personal sentiments towards society and those who live in it. I personally don’t know anyone who is affiliated with Antifa-BLM, etc., but I sure hate what they do. I hate the sight of JoeBiden, his administration and their agenda, I hate the sight of Dr. Fauci...I hate what radical feminism has done to the image of the typical American male, I hate the drug cartels, ISIS, al Qaeda, the Taliban...I hate how foreigners expect to gain entry to the US at the southern border, I hate that I’m being lied to and I really hate when my vote is cancelled by election fraud...How’s that for “hate speech”?

True.

White Christians endure hate speech every day. And not from two-bit Twitter users, but from mega-rich Hollywood studios and Ivy League universities. Hollywood is always demonize white Christians, and the universities are actually teaching that we're evil just for being white.

If white Christians can take it (and we can), then so can everyone else. All I ask is free speech on the internet, so we can fight back (i.e., speak back) to defend ourselves.

Those with Truth on their side don't need censorship. Just give us equal access to the microphone, and we'll win the argument.

Still confused, what are these folks “blowing the whistle” about? They’re a leftist organization, they push the democrat line in their censorship.

I think the whistleblower is claiming that Facebook is not doing enough to censor “hate speech.”

The last one, the pencil thin lipped, psychotic eyed leftist representative of toxic feminism didn’t get any traction beyond a week of state media hero worship.

Exactly. All this kabuki to enact more speech restrictions in ALL outlets. It is no coincidence facebook released ads calling for more control over the internet a few days before the “whistleblower” suddenly appeared begging the democrats to regulate internet speech.

Facebook is a perfect example of socialism:
You get it for free but the quality sucks.
You have no say in how it works.
The guy who runs it gets rich.
There's no real competition.
You have no privacy.
And if you say one thing they don't like
they'll shut you up.
