The Ontario government has unveiled a plan to lift all remaining public health restrictions by March, including the mandatory mask order and the vaccine passport system that only took effect last month.
Premier Doug Ford detailed the "gradual" plan to exit Step 3 of the province's roadmap to reopen during a news conference at Queen's Park on Friday afternoon.
The announcement comes on the heels of Ontario's science table releasing new modelling, which warns that lifting public health restrictions prematurely could still "drive a new wave even with strong vaccine coverage."
"I want to be cautious, very cautious moving forward. We are one of the most cautious provinces, but in saying that the numbers are stable and this isn't a one-way street, it has to be a two-way street and there has to be benefits to the people across Ontario given all the hard work they have done," Ford said at Queen's Park. "But let me reinforce the word cautious. We have always been cautious and I'm going to be super cautious. If we do not see the numbers in a stable place, we just aren't going to do it."
According to a news release, the province will be taking a "gradual approach" to lifting all remaining public health restrictions over the next six months so long as public health indicators remain positive.

“Two weeks to flatten the curve...”
I bet 1000 bucks the goal post will keep moving.
You have to be “cautious” when herding cattle—never know when they might turn on you...

How will Trudeau respond? 'YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORI-TIE!'
Small businesses have been through this fan dance many times before, only to be told, ‘Never Mind, we are NOT open like before’.
It’s not science they are trusting…
Listen to what Florida’s Surgeon General has to say about Mask mandates
for schools and children and the actual weak evidence to support it and the
very strong evidence against such action.

Weird times if Ontario winds up ahead of Alberta.
At least he didn’t say, “Swear to God.”, like Alberta’s Jason Kenney, when he announced that, “Alberta’s open for good”, in July 2021.
LOL! And what metric are they diving to occur at that future date?
Kenny is an Ontarian. An ONtario conservative knows that the days when they were guaranteed their own province are long gone. THey may still harbor delusions about Alberta.
One things for sure—Alberta won’t be putting in the provincial Liberals.
Eighteen months later:
Four months to slow the curve...
Six months later:
Twelve months to slow the curve?
Face it. They were thrown a curve.
Hi ho the dairy-O, a curving they will go.
MARCH??????? OMG!

Canada is introducing a standardized national proof of vaccination!: (Herr Trudeau)
We made a commitment to ensure that there is a national standard for a proof of vaccination certificate that will be issued by every province and territory so that people can travel domestically, but particularly internationally.
Today, I’m happy to confirm that all provinces and territories have confirmed that they will be moving forward with a standardized national proof of vaccination. As of today, so far we have Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and all three territories, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon already have put into use the national standard for proof of vaccination.
You can download it onto your phone; you can print it out; you can ask for a copy by mail if you don’t have those capacities. But you are now able to show proof of vaccination immediately in all those provinces, and all other provinces have agreed and are working hard to come on line so that as Canadians look to start traveling again there will be a standardized proof of vaccination certificate, that, as we said, we will be picking up the tab for at the federal level.
