The issue was never dangerous parents; but squashing growing nationwide backlash of mask mandates, anti-white racism and anti-scientific gender fluidity propaganda being pushed on children.
Attorney General Merrick Garland was unable to provide data supporting the October 4, 2021 assertion that there is a “disturbing spike” of supposed “threats of violence” and harassment aimed at school boards and teachers.
Rep. Jim Jordan very effectively pinned down the Attorney General during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday.
The assertion about domestic terrorist parents stemmed from a letter dated September 29, 2021 signed by Viola M. Garcia, EdD and Chip Slaven, Esq. from the National School Board Association (NSBA). That letter asks for federal government assistance in thwarting dangerous parents, stating in part:
As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.
The mainstream media immediately gleefully reported on the NSBA letter. Watch this CNN propaganda report featuring Viola Garcia dated October 1, 2021:

it was just another gov’t fear tactic. As Frank Herbert wrote, “Fear is the mind killer.” what kills you is what you think they’re going to do to you. the left always plays to gop fear. hopefully, it’s not working this time.
Of course Garland can’t justify the statement - it is now, and has been from the beginning, all about quashing dissent against the Xiden regime agenda. Man, we dodged a bullet with McConnell’s refusal to hold a SCOTUS confirmation vote for this fkin clown.
Can’t buttress the charges about the 01/06 protesters either.
...a laughing stock!
He is using the FBI as his personal gestapo to go after parents who are against his family business
Be thankful that this clown is not on the Supreme Court.
“He is using the FBI as his personal gestapo to go after parents who are against his family business.”
If we were living in a sane world, the FIB would be looking for Islamic terrorists and Chi-Com spies.
The issue is stopping a nascent movement of involved citizens similar to the Tea Party from forming ahead of the 2022 mid-term elections.
Democrats are afraid that if too many people see parents standing up to local school board tyrants, they will become emboldened in their own towns and follow the trend. The last thing that Democrats want heading into 2022 is a red wave of highly motivated "soccer moms" organizing around school issues that might nudge them to support the right next year.
The Democrats need to stop the optics of people rebelling against authority, even if that "authority" is the local school board. Just like how local Pennsylvania business woman Katy Abrams stood up at a 2010 Arlen Specter town hall and told him that "they woke up a sleeping giant, and we are tired of this," Terry McAuliffe's comment that “I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decision... I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach,” is going to reawaken that sleeping giant.
The Biden Administration's response is to sic the Justice Department and FBI on the parents the way that Obama sicced the IRS on the Tea Party groups to stop them from organizing their tax exempt 401(c)(4)s in time for the 2010 mid-terms.

The public comment portion of school board meetings is reminiscent of the town hall meetings that Congressmen used to hold until this one took place.

He heard about it from the school board union and read it in the newspapers, so it must be true that the parents are a murderous mob.
I must say that the House Oversight Committee’s questioning Merrick Garland was one of the most entertaining and informative investigations I have ever seen.
It will be on C Span and I intend to watch it again and again.
