Biden ties legislative agenda to MLK push for racial justice

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden on Thursday tied his legislative priorities on voting rights, police reform and climate change to Martin Luther King Jr.’s push for racial justice as he marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of the civil rights leader’s memorial on the National Mall.

Biden, introduced by Vice President Kamala Harris, sought to reassure his supporters that he wouldn’t let up the fight as he works to muscle his massive social spending bill through a divided Congress. Invoking King, Biden said the country was still working to live up to its ideals as a nation and had reached an inflection point on issues including fighting voting restrictions.

“I know that progress does not come fast enough,” Biden said. “It never has.”

Recalling the struggles of King’s time, Biden said in his speech that white nationalism still poses a threat to the nation and that, in his view, it inspired the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Biden said people of his generation always thought that hate would go away.

In a reference to former President Donald Trump, Biden said, “We had a president who appealed to the prejudice.” He added, “We cannot and must not give hate any safe harbor.”

Harris, for her part, praised King as a “prophet” and said the monument “is dedicated to a man who lived among us.”

MLK said we should judge people based on the content of their character.

Bidet rates an F- for “content of character”.

Biden’s poll numbers are in the tank because he’s senile, everything he and his administration has touched has turned to poop, and Christmas presents are at risk because of their incompetence.

They’re firing up the ole racism machine because it’s all they got left. What are they going to do? Run on their record? Ha!

MLK’s battle was for civil rights.

He won that battle.

It’s over and done.

“We had a president who appealed to the prejudice.”

Nonsense. Trump was for gay marriage before Hillary and Obama where (not that I necessarily agree with state-sponsored marriage or gay marriage).

Trump spent a lot of his own money on projects that helped everyone in NYC (ice rink, golf course, 9/11 rescue and recovery, etc.), including minorities. Democrats want to spend YOUR money for their political purposes.

Meanwhile MLK’s character was not so great. He cheated like crazy on his wife, a womanizer.

Blaming Trump as being racist. He never was. That slander should come back to trouble Biden and his sycophants.

A slide show I went through of probably 75 pictures of Trump’s history before politics included dozens of pictures of black businessmen, sports stars, movie and TV stars and political leaders with an arm around Trump or shaking his hand and smiling. They weren’t faked or forced.

Until he decided to run as a Republican he was popular and never, ever falsely accused of being a racist. After he announced as GOP they said we can’t have that. We can’t tolerate him as a Republican. Destroy him.

The Left has rarely gotten ML King right after his death.

They for sure didn’t get him while he was alive, hosing
people and sicking dogs on them.

To garner Biden's attention, MLK must have been clean, well groomed, and articulate. Not at all like Corn Pop.
