A critical element in everything from engines to bodies is in short supply
... Essentially, you can’t make cars without aluminum. You can’t work with aluminum without using magnesium. And as of December, you may not be able to work with magnesium much — if at all.
85% of the world’s supply comes from ... China, ... (which) just ordered 35 of its 50 production facilities to shut down. The remaining 15 have been told to scale back operations by half, leaving production drastically reduced.

See my reply #37.
Our politicians and economic planners must had had their heads stuck five feet up their arse when they sold out our industries to the Chinese. Or they were bought off. Or they were just garden variety traitors and psychopaths that have plagued mankind from the beginning.
China has been buying up mines all over the world...apparently the Russians, too. Both bought into Guinea’s bauxite mines and had a puppet in place there until recently. Guinea’s military staged a coup and threw him out, not sure for how long...turns out Russiagate’s Oleg Deripaska had or has his aluminum company Aleus there. Speaking of the aluminum business, wasn’t that pardongate’s Marc Rich’s thing, too?
To answer your question more specifically, the various markets are doing well because they are artificially being inflated by the Great Reset side of the war. They could crash things, and they just might and blame it on the Great Awakening side.
Operations Looking Glass, though, has proven that the Great Reset cannot win. They can buy time, but they will lose big.
That would definitely help.
The computer fuel injection does get superior mileage, but I have a dwell meter for setting points when the Nork/Chicom EMP takes them out.
Milk of Magnesia for occasional supply chain constipation?
Just bought a 75 Vette... end of life not mid life crisis 🤣. I can take the entire car apart with a straight slot, Phillips head, allen wrench and some basic mechanics tools. No computer no BS and fun to drive. I can get all American made parts with no problem.
My only fear is getting gas... But it does get better gas mileage than my 9.2mpg truck!!!!
I bought an 04 Hummer H2 last year. Always wanted one.
Love it and love to tinker on it. Plus watch the libs scowl as I drive by.
good thing i invested my energy, money, and time into buying, restoring, and selling classic cars and trucks...
All I got
to say about that is...
Dam straight!
Need AC? Roll down the window...by hand crank.
Want to listen to the radio? Turn the nob...by your fingers. Tune it the same way by the other nob. Course there is the push buttons, etc.
Doesnt coast 1500 bucks to replace the heater/AC mixer either.
the pride of Mishawaka Indiana!
Tangible assets. Where else can you put cash that will grow? My investments are growing in those two areas. When you own stock, you own a piece of a company that has assets, hopefully one that is productive and growing. Everything else is going to the crapper now. Material shortages mean that someone will be making these materials and someone will work to supply them - eventually. In the meantime, invest in the right companies that will survive. The stock market is due for a correction, which will recover given time, but anything can happen due to uncontrollable influences (primarily a demented Joe). Scary times ahead.
Absolutely. I have a 1966 vintage car. Runs great, rebuilt the engine myself. Also have plenty of spare parts. That thing will continue running for 50 more years without need for computer chips or diagnostic tools, as long as I can buy gasoline for it.
I had a 63 chev bel air four door. 230 peanut six with three on the tree.
25 MPG and that was at 65 MPH.
That was before I got into the muscle car fever. Then it was a 65 dodge coronet with a 440 magnum with a six pack, big cam and all that. Four speed.
That one got around 6 to 8 MPG. Just couldnt keep my dam foot out of the six pack. For some reason, tires didnt last long.
I know a couple of car dealers that have vacant back lots as big as football stadiums.
In 2019 they were packed to the gills.
Remember the headlight dimmer switch on the floor?
I’ll find out in the spring what kind of mileage I get with my new QFT Black Diamond 950 DP. I won’t be holding my breath......
Yep it’s one of the quizzez that pop up on Small Block Chevy Engines.
