Car break-ins in San Francisco are rampant. Will a $100,000 reward help?

Someone broke into my daughter’s car in Richmond and stole her Aldi’s quarters. Don’t spend that $1.25 in one place.

reward of up to $100,000 leading to the arrest and conviction

That’s silly. If by some miracle someone were arrested and charged, he would never be prosecuted, so there’s zero chance of a conviction and payout. What a scam.

Yeah when you grab the cat off a pickup truck or Suburban you don’t even need a jack.
I’m waiting for some saw blade outfit to start advertising “cuts thru exhaust pipes like butta”

Probably.

Offer $100,000 reward to everyone who can prove they stole a car. Then arrest them.

Offer $100,000 reward to anyone who can steal a particular car sitting on a particular street. Arrest anyone who tries.

Offer $100,000 reward to anyone who reveals the location of a chop shop after verification.

Offer $100,000 reward to operators of a chop shop for a reduced sentence if they help arrest everyone who brings a stolen car to them.

It won’t help much if the car break-ins are decriminalized, or they’re immediately released under cashless bail “reform”.

"I guess they’re giving Social Workers new powers these days."

I'm betting the majority of non-violent crimes aren't even recorded in the official records anymore. That way a city can claim that crime is down. That's what's happened in New York City. If you don't produce an official record of a crime, it basically didn't happen.

I agree.

And then the victims aren’t actually victims anymore.

Their stuff is gone, and they may have a few broken bones,
but hey, they should be happy to be alive.

It was due to the tremendous car break-in rate we’d read.

Before I retired from a job working in downtown San Francisco, I'd walk to nearby restaurants for lunch with co-workers. Every day we'd see broken window glass on sidewalks because of thieves breaking into cars. Literally every block had broken glass at the curb. My daughter and her family came to visit two years ago, rented a SUV, and the side window got broken and the car was robbed. Granddaughter cried because her backpack was taken. Thieves like to target rental cars because visitors leave stuff in the cars. But thievery is everywhere now; a neighbor had their car stolen from their own driveway this week.

A few dead perps left chillin’ at the scene will send a more, uhhh, CONVINCING message.

Bodies on the street have that effect.

This will be declared a racist program when all the perps turn out to be Black.
Then, they'll not charge all those caught and release them.

As utterly depraved as the Gay State is I thank God every day that I’m not living in Kalifornia.

Crooks target out of state license plates. They know they can get away with it. Hence the hospitality rewards are posted.

My brother and his wife are in the building trades; several years ago they went to a convention in SF. The best time to network with others is in the bar/restaurant; he couldn’t even do that because he was constantly being harassed by homosexuals and he is not homosexual at all. He got so angry and disgusted he left the next day; his wife got so angry and disgusted she left the following day.

Mention SF to either one of them, they curse and spit.

Reason number 316 why I’m glad I don’t live in SF. Living in rural South Carolina, I’m about as far away from that mess, including the whole state, as I can get.
