Exactly - track "migrants" why? Do they expect them to be more of a crime problem than real citizens? Gosh, why let them in then?
Of course, if they are tracking migrants with the stated goal of "ensuring public safety" it is just a small step to start tracking citizens they may interact with or who may represent a threat...
Face it, this is just big brother admitting they want to be more open about what they are already doing. They want to go public to get more of a deterrent effect.

It is impossible for 95,000 people to cross Mexico without the Mexican government knowing where they are.
What is really needed is for the US government to explain to the Mexican government that they will prevent illegals from crossing their country to access ours or we will terminate all commerce and any contact of any kind between any Mexican nationals.
And that if that fails, we will take military action.
