If it is not a crime for anything under $950 to be stolen, then why would they report it and how could they?

Oh my. The liberals investigated and found out that they weren’t at fault.

only 23 shoplifting incidents since 2018...

No drugstore can sustain $949 dollar thefts in perpetuity.

I just feel sorry for the workers, but they got the government they deserve.

I remember the the scum media used the term ,”food deserts” to cry racism. When in reality, the locals shoplifted and robbed the places until they closed down.

Walgreen should have just said they were closing the stores due to Climate Change. That would have satisfied everyone. Plus they might have gotten a government grant out of it.

Dean Preston, supervisor of San Francisco’s 5th district, which will be impacted by a store closure, said the pharmacy chain is “abandoning the community” and has “long planned to close stores,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Supervisor Dean Preston

is a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, representing District 5. He is the first Democratic Socialist elected to the SF Board of Supervisors in over 40 years.

Worker’s paradise not necessarily a business paradise

Exactly...why would a store report shoplifting in California? Nothing will be done about it.

Local officials: If a store can’t survive having thousands of dollars worth of merchandise stolen in broad daylight well, frankly, we don’t need them here.

The old model of customers ordering their purchases, and having them brought to the counter may work. For those who need things immediately. But that really cuts down on impulse buys.

Actually, Walgreens should be able to close whatever stores they want. They owe an explanation to no one.

But I agree with everyone, above. If they can’t report items stolen under $950, that explains the lack shoplifting that has been reported.

Growing up in Queens, as the neighborhood changed, our local grocery store was robbed every Friday around 3:00 PM. The 113 Precinct stationed a patrol car across the street till about 3:30. Fifteen minutes after they left, the place was robbed. The cops told the Italian-American family who owned it to get a gun. They didn’t want to. They hired an ancient black Spanish-American war veteran as an armed security guard. The local yutes taunted him. He discharged his firearm into the parking lot, the ricochette hitting one of the yutes in the ankle.

They gave up and sold the place to a family of Lebanese immigrants. The Lebanese are big believers in the IInd Amendment. When we had the blackout in 1977, they turned out in lawnchairs with long rifles, and looting passed them by. On one occasion, one of da buthras was trying to socialize with one of the female cashiers. Her cousin at the next register asked him to desist. When he told the cousin to chill, the cousin produced a 9mm from under the counter and da brutha left as fast as he could walk on his tremblin’ knees.

They were never robbed.
