Democrat Reps. David Price of North Carolina and Mike Doyle of Pennsylvania announced that they will not seek reelection in 2022, making them the two latest Democrats to retire from Congress as their party tries to hold onto a slim majority in 2022.
"I am announcing today that I will not seek re-election as representative for North Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District," Price said in a statement. "I do so with a profound sense of gratitude to the voters of the Fourth District; to the supporters who have backed me in 18 successive campaigns; and to my staff in Washington and the district, whose competence and dedication are responsible for the quality of representation and service I have been able to provide."
Price added: "So while it is time for me to retire, it is no time to flag in our efforts to secure a ‘more perfect union’ and to protect and expand our democracy… promise, in the fifteen months remaining and beyond, to continue fighting for the just and inclusive country we believe in."

36 years in Congress? That’s obscene.
Don’t vote for anyone over 70.
Dominion elections do not equate to fragility for demonrats
Try not voting for anyone who has served two term already. Make room for new ideas.
Which is worse, quitters or capitulators?
The Dems will lose 40+ seats and I hope the GOP treats them as poorly as they treated the GOP.
The puppet emperor from China is really unpopular.
Conventional wisdom holds that the opposition party should make massive gains in such a midterm.
That would not normally be a problem with enough RINO brand Republicans to provide cover and the illusion of opposition.
But they aren't popular either.
So what is the establishment going to do? More faked and rigged elections to maintain their power base?
Or let a neutered opposition take charge which they can mostly steamroll and ignore?
That would seem to be the easier course, but there is no guarantee this time that they could be steamrolled and ignored, so I am betting on the rigged election, which carries an entirely separate set of risks.
We are living in Vichy France and it is only mid March 1941.
If they really gave a damn, wouldn’t they resign now and allow a replacement to be appointed so that person would have the benefit of incumbency?
Rats deserting a sinking ship.
Notice how the article is written from the point of view of Democrats.
The mass media is the enemy.
Representatives are not appointed. They have to be elected.
Mike Doyle is a surprise as he represents a safe D seat (Cook D+13%) from Pittsburgh (plus lefty eastern suburbs like Wellkillyinzburg) and is only 68 years old.
History says otherwise.
Price nominated me to West Point. If I had stayed in, I would be looking for a promotion to O-6 by now or collecting my pension.
Doyle represents the district next door to mine, Pittsburgh and the suburbs which have the misfortune to lie too close to the city.
The PA Republican legislature would have to do one hell of a job (spoiler: they won’t) to somehow make SW PA Democrat-free in Congress. It has never happened that way here, but it may not be totally impossible: Ohio has always split Cincinnati (similar in size to Pittsburgh) in recent decades enabling Republicans to win both marginal districts at various times. They used to do the same with Columbus, but that city is now so much of a liberal sewer that it’s no longer possible and they gave up trying as of 2011.
Barring a miracle, whatever map the PA Democrat Supreme Court implements (maybe that won’t happen this time, but why not — remember 2018?) after Governor Commie Tommie vetoes the Republican-drawn map for PA, will include one guaranteed Democrat Pittsburgh-area district like the one Doyle represented, so he will very likely be replaced by an even farther-left moonbat. If a Republican map somehow makes it into law in PA for 2022, all of the rest of Western PA’s districts should range from likely R to solid R. We are, after all, the “Bitter Clingers” that ex-pResident Bonzo the Wonder Chimp accused us of being.
The key will be the Senate.
You see, they cannot rig congressional elections....too many honest districts.
But Senate races are statewide and the big city fraud can flip those.
If the Democrats take big losses in the House, but hold the Senate, then you know the fraud is locked-in for the 2024 POTUS race.
Maybe they both have been listening to Robin Bullock. You know, votes mean something to tThe Almighty God.
Do you think the establishment is willing to take that chance? I don't.
PA 18th District: Doyle won his 2018 race unopposed and the 2020 election 69%-31%. Cook rates it a D+13 Dem. It will be hard for a Rep to win in 2022. However, PA is losing one seat so it will be interesting to seen how redistricting goes given a Rep controlled legislature. .
Good riddance on David Price. A complete NC demonrat TOOL of the machine politics. Owned by Duke and UNC and the statewide liberal machine. For Years.
A real CONSERVATIVE is needed to run. Let’s get one started and well supported. The JOHN LOCKE Society speak up. Stop the JoeBama madness that the governor is carrying water for!
