The Trafalgar Group has released a poll showing Republican Glenn Youngkin with a one point advantage (48.4-47.5 percent) over Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Virginia’s gubernatorial race.
The survey of 1,095 voters conducted between October 11 and 13 has a margin of error of three points, and indicates that three percent of Virginia voters are undecided in the contest.
On the other hand, Fox News’ newest poll of 1,004 voters conducted between October 10 and 13 and McAuliffe with a five point lead over Youngkin (51-46 percent). Fox’s offering has a margin of error of 3.5 points, with, again, three percent of voters calling themselves undecided.
Both campaigns can put forward narratives to support their preferred vision of the race, with the ongoing school board-driven controversy in Loudoun County bolstering Youngkin’s messaging about returning educational control to parents, and a controversial rally featuring a flag used during the January 6 Capitol riot helping McAuliffe tie his opponent to Donald Trump.

Slight lead in poll = 10-15 percentage points in actual election.
FWIW, I have seen many Youngkin signs in front of houses (and in Fairfax County yet) at which I have never seen any signs ever before. Let’s hope the dems are too stupid to pull off enough of a cheat this time.
Let’s hope Republicans are too leery of Dems and too galvanized to allow them to get away with cheating this time.
Not getting my hopes up about this one.
I’ve seen one too many 3am Arlington vote dumps in my life.
A friend in Alexandria said the same thing. More Youngkin signs than expected, more than there were for Trump or Romney.
Hopefully its enough to beat the cheat but unfortunately I have my doubts
I’d bet my 401k that youngin loses
They need more than a slight lead, much more. There are enough phony ballots in the trunks of RAT cars to elect whoever they want on the days following the elections.
BTW, if you haven't seen it, "Hope" is back this week in SEC Shorts!
Yet you won’t bet your continued participation here at FR? Why?
Forget it, Jake, it’s Fairfax County. Too many dems to watch and there is going to be cheating. I just wish the Republicans would take off the gloves and stop taking the high road. After last November’s steal, now it’s for all the marbles.
Hopefully, the people in charge of doing the cheat are p!ssed at him, too. “Let them eat cake” didn’t exactly do wonders for Marie Antoinette’s approval rating, either.
No way GOPe wins statewide VA ....I’m sorry
Polls are for fools.
No kidding
Virginia is at least 55 Dems now
Those WalMart-ers don’t tend to live in Loudoun County (average household income is almost $150,000/yr). But this scandal and his pompous “I’ve-got-this-election-in-the-bag” handling of it might cause McAuliffe to get less than 60% of the vote in that county.
This ain’t your daddy’s Loudoun County anymore, like back when it was giving Reagan (’84) and Bush (’88) nearly 70% of the vote. It’s been heavily invaded, just like everything else near or inside the Beltway and almost universally consists of government employees and contractors, a/k/a “white collar welfare animals”, living off the taxpayer.
If — BIG if — the transvestite rape scandal somehow causes him to get less than 55-60% in Northern Virginia as a whole (despite the media’s downplaying of it), he’s toast. Mac Daddy very much needs those third-world votes from NOVA in order to win statewide, regardless of how many black churches he bribes and/or campaigns in elsewhere.
Now that I have requested and gotten my own absentee ballot, the dems, who think I’m one of them thanks to Operation Chaos, can’t steal it like they did in ‘16 and are really bugging me to get my vote in.
