Employees of the San Antonio Independent School District are not required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment after the Texas Supreme Court intervened on Thursday.
No employees can be fired for not receiving the vaccine, and in the event anyone is fired, the Texas Attorney General’s office says they should call the office and let the AG’s staff know.
The Texas Supreme Court issued a temporary stay, halting enforcement of San Antonio ISD’s mandate requiring that all employees receive both COVID-19 doses by Friday (Oct. 15).
“No local entity is above state law,” Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement. “I am glad to see that the Supreme Court of Texas has again confirmed that the Governor’s decisions control at both the state and local levels. This decision should serve as a reminder to all Texas school districts that they should be using their limited funds on educating children and equipping teachers, not defending unlawful vaccine mandates.”
The court said it granted relief while it considered the state’s petition for writ of mandamus. It also said it expressed no view on the merits of the state’s claims.
The vaccine mandate lawsuits as well as lawsuits related to the mandating of mask wearing challenge the legality of Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive orders, which use the Texas Disaster Act as a justification for issuing them.

Well done, Governor Abbott.
Now about that border….

Ahhhh my Texas. Assaulted by leftists but still holding firm.
I’m curious just what is it that you think he can do and maybe should do? If they cross on Federal property, go into Federal custody and transported by Federal vehicles and airlines? Texas has more leeway on the border than any other state but if it’s bypassed we’re screwed.
How about he builds the wall on State property?
Hooray for the Great State of Texas!!!
Texas, you folks better fix San Antonio or your state is doomed.
“”How about he builds the wall on State property?””
We can do that but very little state land is on the river itself, vast majority is privately owned. The most river front they won is in the Big Bend Ranch State Park west of Big Bend National Park. Definitely not a high traffic area due to terrain extremes.
How about eminent domain?
I would love to pin Gates, Fauci, Soros, et al to the ground and jab them with their “vaccine.”
The real vaccine, not the saline solution “vaccine” they got on camera.
If a political sub-entity in Texas challenges the Governor’s a mandate on the basis that it is unconstitutional, or on the basis that it is not a law, then how does the sub-entity expect its own mandates to be unchallenged on the same basis?
Beat me to it!!!
Are they on Federal roads? The second they hit a state or county stretch of black top they should be pulled over and the driver arrested for human trafficking, the vehicle impounded, and all the passengers detained.
Dare the feds to stop that.

“several districts here in DFW have said they’ll be disregarding the State Supreme Court ruling”
Send in Texas Rangers with orders to arrest anyone defying lawful orders.
L
thanks AG Ken. you saved worthless Abbot’s bacon for the moment.
So you would approve of taking land from a few thousand Texans and cutting them off from their water supply?
So if this applies to the school district’s employees; what about the hospital’s mandating the jab for their employees. That discussion seems to have dropped from the news.

If they get on a private vehicle, the state can, and should come down on them like the proverbial ton of bricks. The fact is, these invaders are not being given cartage on federal vehicles. Personally, I’m in favor of the state simply impounding ANY vehicle transporting these low-life invaders, even if it is a bus allegedly owned by the feds. Impound the vehicles, deport the invaders and let the courts work it out in however many years or decades it takes them to get around to it.
Under Article I, section 8, the federal government is chartered to “To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;”
They most certainly have not called out the militia, it is obvious that they have abandoned the execution of our laws, and are NOT doing anything to repel the ongoing invasion.
Further, in Article IV, Section 4, the federal government is bound to “protect each of them (states) against invasion;”
It is way past time for the states to hold the feral government to the original terms of the compact. The Feds want to pick and choose which portions of the Constitution have relevance. Time for the States to step right up and call them on it.
