It’s the 1970s all over again, and Joe Biden is the new Jimmy Carter

I’ve often felt I was back in the late 70s since Biden became President. But the Democrats are less reasonable and more extreme than then. There were many conservative Democrats like Scoop Jackson in the 70s. Now the liberal Democrats are called ‘conservative’ or ‘moderate’, which they are, compared to communists like AoC.

Never thought I’d say this about anyone, but Biden isn’t fit to Shine Carter’s shoes. At least Carter’s driving ambition wasn’t to destroy the country.

Since Harry Truman, every Democrat President has been worse than the previous Democrat President. Biden is obviously the worst yet, but never underestimate the Democrats’ talent for sinking lower than anyone thought possible.

For example, at least Carter put the illegal Cubans in camps to be processed back to Cuba.

The Mariel boatlift was a mass exodus of Cubans fleeing socialist Cuba for the United States. It took place between April and October 1980 and ultimately included 125,000 Cuban exiles. The exodus was a result of Fidel Castro's decision, following protests by 10,000 asylum seekers, to open the Mariel Harbor to allow any Cubans who wanted to leave to do so.

The boatlift had wide-ranging repercussions. Before then, Cuban exiles had mainly been white and middle- or upper-class. The Marielitos (as Mariel exiles were referred to) represented a much more diverse group both racially and economically, and included many gay Cubans who had experienced repression in Cuba. However, Castro also took advantage of the "open arms" policy of the Carter administration to forcefully deport thousands of convicted criminals and mentally ill people.

You’re right he has moved lefty as he agedbut when he was POTUS he was incompetent but nothing he did was done to deliberately hurt America, and I believe much of his leftiness can be laid at the feet of his view of what being a Christian means. Again I disagree but I feel I could talk to him
Today’s radical Dem Socialists won’t be talked to. Heck back in college I could sit at the bar on Webster Ave in the Bronx and talked to the head of Fordham’s SDS intelligently. Not possible today.
