Rand Paul: Biden’s ‘Big Government Socialism’ brings rising prices, other consequences
Fox News ^ | Oct 16 | Laura Ingraham

Posted on 10/16/2021 3:04:12 AM PDT by RandFan

U.S. Rand Paul, R-Ky., spoke out Friday night on Fox News’ "The Ingraham Angle" in reaction to what host Laura Ingraham called the Biden administration’s "spend-o-rama" agenda.

U.S. SEN. RAND PAUL, R-KY: Yeah, I’ve been watching the trend for several years now and it’s actually why my wife and I wrote our book, "The Case Against Socialism," because we were alarmed that the trend lines were going up with people wanting more and more so-called "free things," wanting to experiment with socialism.

But I think now we’ve seen eight, nine months of Big Government Socialism coming from Biden, and people are starting to understand that there are consequences.

One of the consequences is prices are rising. We’ve had the highest increase now in the cost of living for Social Security. But the question is will it keep up with prices? What if prices go up 10% next year? What happens to those on Social Security and those of lower-wage incomes?

So yes, I think the results are coming in. Big Government Socialism doesn’t work and people are unhappy with it.

But this is important for people to know, but they also need to know the history of socialism: that every time it’s been tried in world history it always ends up with state-sponsored authoritarianism and violence. So it’s not a pleasant system to live in, but it’s also economically a terrible system if you want to try to get ahead for you and your family.

Someone here posted the truth about it. Socialism, you can vote your way in, but you will have to shoot your way out.

One consequence is it spurred me into action and I am now gathering supplies I may need as this clown-show goes forward.

Everything is rising out of site. I’m going to make a BIG grocery run today to stock up for winter. I’m in Upstate NY and shopping in winter is tough for me.

Sounds sensible to me.. Buy canned/long lasting products.

Soups are a good choice for winter!

And pedo joe's constituents are fine with the inconvenience of 40% rise in food and gas because it's all for the "greater good" of a socialist utopia.

People like that cannot be salvaged. Plus, they are a burden on the rest of us.

Sorry, man. Hope it works out for you and yours in the end.

I'm reminded of a popular song from back in the day. CCR: "I See A Bad Moon Rising."

I guess tha’s great if you can do it. If you’re living on S.S. it may not be doable. Even if you had a little savings to dip into; chances are it was your emergency fund & spending a big part of that might get you in deeper than you can handle. Then too, there’s the admittedly slim possibility of over-stocking at some point. I remember reading something about someone who had REALLY stocked up on toilet paper back when there were beginning to be shortages. Af terwards, he was caught with his pants down, trying to retail it but at a markup of the then-current store prices. The one thing that people need to be doing now,and there is no downside to it; is just trusting the Lord in all things.

I'm 77, on SS, and have stocked up before winter just as my parents did and their parents did. Overstock?? How do you do that?? It's not like I'm packing the garage to the ceiling.

I stock up and freeze stuff so I run out mid spring. So the next year, I'm starting again fresh.

A little planning goes a long way.

P.S. The Lord doesn't do my shopping.
