The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) has withdrawn from the National School Boards Association (NSBA) because of the NSBA’s letter suggesting the recent behavior of individuals in school board meetings could eventually rise to the level of “domestic terrorism or hate crimes.”
PSBA wrote bluntly, “The most recent national controversy surrounding a letter to President Biden suggesting that some parents should be considered domestic terrorists was the final straw.”
The memo began, “The Governing Board of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association has voted unanimously to cancel PSBA’s longstanding membership in the National School Boards Association. The decision was reached following significant deliberations and discussions with counsel and management.”
“PSBA membership in NSBA should bring value and support to our organization and local school directors,” the memo continued. “The value of the NSBA federation membership has been questioned numerous times over the past several years both within Pennsylvania and amongst many other state school boards associations. The most recent national controversy surrounding a letter to President Biden suggesting that some parents should be considered domestic terrorists was the final straw.”
“This misguided approach has made our work and that of many school boards more difficult,” the memo asserted. “It has fomented more disputes and cast partisanship on our work on behalf of school directors when we seek to find common ground and support all school directors in their work, no matter their politics. Now is not the time for more politics and posturing, it is the time for solutions to the many challenges facing education. … It has been a struggle for the board and leadership of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association to identify a reason to continue to be a part of a federation that is not focused on bipartisanship, civility and seeking solutions to the internal problems that have plagued the national organization for so long.”
Let the rest of the states follow suite! Good move but more needs to be done.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
There may be hope for this country yet. I generally expect that Pennsylvania will weigh in on the side of the angels only at the last minute and after dithering. If the middle is not hopeless, things may yet right.
Let this be the beginning of a national movement. Throw off the chains of one petty tyrant after another until they fall like dominoes.
Do not stop fighting school boards in PA because of this. Get in their leftist faces. Abuse. Ridicule. Replace them.
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) has demonstrated by its letter that it has become an enemy of patriotic Americans and the United States of America.
Yes, ridicule. One of Alinskys Rules for Radicals is to riducule the enemy, as if Alinskys was the most profound thinker of all time 😃. Turnabout’s fair play. The left is even less tolerant of being made fun of. One reason that to them everything is racist/homophobic or whatever “ist” or “phobic” they make up
Look for the FIB to come after the PSBA in short order, along with any others who choose to take this action. Kudos to the folks in PA!
That’s exactly where I am coming from. Hold the target still. Surround. Attack. Immobilize. They will not be able to achieve their leftist goals. And it is generally fun making their lives miserable.
If I recall every school board in the country is elected. I am pretty certain none are appointed. Given that then someone needs to explain how it is that these folks were elected. Did they lie, were they financed by outside groups, did they cheat?
And when are elections held? Will not some of these parents step up and oppose them?
I don’t have kids in school but if I did I would certainly be looking closely at school board candidates qualifications, their political leanings and attitudes. Even. Ow when I vote for school boards I look at who I am voting for, not just who appears first on the ballot.
So all these news articles are just inflaming people...vote them out! Participate!
Yes. I think it’s Alinsky’s most effective rule. PDJT used it well during his first campaign.
Let me suggest PA FReepers contact the PA School Board Assn and thank them for their stand. Here's their contact page:

Yes-—I was very surprised to read this-—I don’t know what and why, but I won’t speculate on hearing “good” news for once.
The The National School Boards Association is a professional child abuse organization in drag. They ought to be disbanded and prosecuted. I intend to write them a strongly-worded letter and copy a few law enforcement agencies. Not that they will cease and desist on my account, but they have overstepped their bounds bigly, as it were.
Good. All Pennsylvanians need to go to Board meetings to support parents who get up to speak. My Northampton, PA School Board is arrogant and treats parents with hostility.
Exactly right. People need to turn out to Board meetings. We go regularly now. You have to witness their arrogance to believe it. They make us go through metal detectors & they hire extra police officers to protect the Board.
11 state school boards have pushed back on the national organization:
The list of states:
“State-level school boards in Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, and Tennessee have now joined Louisiana and Virginia in criticizing the NSBA’s letter and made it clear they had not been consulted before the letter was sent to Biden. The state school boards in New Hampshire, Texas, and Pennsylvania also have said the NSBA did not reach out to them about the letter beforehand.”
