An interesting solution to a non-problem.

Right. Just print money then it doesn’t cost anything.

It’s easy to solve a crisis that doesn’t exist.

Not as quickly as little serious science education.

So, make a coin that requires lots of energy to produce and trade in order to reduce energy use. Perfect!

First thing I thought when I saw this too.

No, first there is no carbon crisis. Second, you have to set up a government behind it. This coin is a way to build a world government. Stop it. nobody will care about a carbon coin unless there is a world government that stops people from building plants that use carbon. Then remember all plants and people create carbon. Stupid as it sounds, carbon is in the world. Nobody creates it or destroys it. The world has so much. The only issue is whether its in the ground, the oceans or the air. And by the way, everything that grows or walks will produce air carbon when it dies or eats or poos.

So lets not buy into this from the get go. Its stupid. And its only about control, not about the planet.

Make it worth a trillion dollars and use it to pay off the national debt.

Clear as the science seemed, economics emerged as the key problem

Money quote (pun intended).

Currency only works if it can be exchanged for something of value. It's in lieu of direct barter.

If the "crisis" were real, people would be willing to pay for things like "green energy", instead of the government having to fund their production and development.

So, in a way, this guy's "solution" is at least appropriate - a valueless currency to be used in the exchange of valueless goods and services.

Since it is an imaginary crisis, most anything could solve it.

My favorite solution is for everyone who believes CO2 is a harmful pollutant to STOP EXHALING it.

Yup. It’s like buying a laser cannon to fight against rampaging dinosaurs down the street. Liberals are morons.

A carbon coin? Al Gore should get a cut from each one since he literally invented global warming.
