Tsarnaev, a case involving the Biden administration’s request that SCOTUS reinstate a death sentence for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The case is an unusual example of what some in the legal community have called “cognitive dissonance,” in which the Biden administration is advocating a position that is in clear conflict with its stated policy goals.
Biden pledged to end the death penalty, and called for a moratorium on all federal executions — a position that stands in stark contrast to the multiple federal executions carried out in the final days of the Trump administration. In the case before SCOTUS, however, the Department of Justice maintains that the justices should reinstate the death penalty thrown out by the federal appellate court.

Yes, we know that they support the jihadists, but this is more about allowing the political class to decide who gets executed and who does not rather than the courts and juries.
Ideally, the Politburo will decide if you are a party member in good standing or not and that will affect any sentence.

Tens of millions of us saw and understood what happened in November 2020 and KNEW what needed to be done about it to protect America. These 9 morons, or maybe 7, who had the power to stop the steal, did not want to take any “personal” risk so they did nothing. In effect, they were cowards. In WW II we shot cowards (legally) in front of a firing squad.
I was very leery of her & took a lot of heat for my position here at FR. I thought there was too much virtue signaling and extreme positions. Catholicism, commitment to the place of religion & God in the public space great. A small sect where each individual has someone assigned to judge every action & thought in minute detail, IDK, sounds like a personal choice that does not bode well for a Supreme Court position and independent thought without bending to popularity or pressure.
I was uneasy about the adoptions of children who would need a great deal of individual attention by a woman who had an intense work schedule. Could she really be personally fulfilling the duties of motherhood or was there an element of virtue signaling?
I raised 4 while working and it was a constant challenge to be sure everyone had the attention they needed let alone 7 children one Downs, 2 adopted from Haiti. Adopting a child from another country can bring much joy to parents and child but there are emotional & adjustment issues that need extra time & attention.
Barrett always seemed larger than life, like a made for TV construct, groomed by her mentors for years to be appointed to SC. I doubted the reality matched the hype and doubted the independence of thought and commitment to the constitution.
So far I am not reassured by her judgements but since it is a life appointment we will have many years to find out who she truly is.
Biden wants the death penalty to kill presumed insurrectionists and those revealed as traitors against the coming new order. So he has to be against the death penalty for one group of people but be for it for those he and the Dems hate! I think that may be the rat Barrett is smelling!
