Did the Loudoun County school board try to hush up a sexual assault and allow the victim’s father to be cast as a sort of domestic terrorist? The Daily Wire reported last night on this horrifying story from Virginia, in which a father’s angry criticism of the school board went viral, but for all the wrong reasons. At the heart of Scott Smith’s rage was a grotesque sexual assault on his daughter, facilitated at least in part because of politically correct bathroom access:
On June 22, Scott Smith was arrested at a Loudoun County, Virginia, school board meeting, a meeting that was ultimately deemed an “unlawful assembly” after many attendees vocally opposed a policy on transgender students.
What people did not know is that weeks prior on May 28, Smith says, a boy allegedly wearing a skirt entered a girls’ bathroom at nearby Stone Bridge High School, where he sexually assaulted Smith’s ninth-grade daughter.
Juvenile records are sealed, but Smith’s attorney Elizabeth Lancaster told The Daily Wire that a boy was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio, related to an incident that day at that school.
That wasn’t the only thing that set Smith off at that meeting. After other parents had spoken out against transgender bathroom access, the superintendent scolded them over their concerns, calling it completely unfounded. Luke Rosiak reports that it only went downhill from there:
Minutes before Smith’s arrest, the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) superintendent lectured the public that concerns about the transgender policy were misplaced because the school system had no record of any assault occurring in any school bathroom.
Then a woman wearing a rainbow heart shirt – a left-wing community activist – told Smith she did not believe his daughter, he says. His rage reached a boil and he had a heated exchange of words with the woman. A police officer, there to keep the peace in the meeting, pulled on his arm. Smith yanked it away. Before he knew it, Smith says, he was hit in the face, handcuffed, and dragged across the floor, with his pants pulled down.
The rest is behind the Daily Wire paywall, but it’s worth the price of admission. Not only did the school board cover up the assault, they and local prosecutors tried covering up another school assault that may have been by the same perp — who was supposed to be on home detention pending trial. The police only got involved in his daughter’s assault, Smith told Rosiak, because the school called the police on him after he went ballistic that the school wasn’t calling the police for the sexual assault on his daughter.
The police did investigate and the perp was charged, but that didn’t stop the school district and the school from lying about it to parents. They sent out a communique offering counseling over the trauma of Smith’s heated exchanges with the school administrators and repeatedly refused to acknowledge the sexual assault. After the incident at the school board meeting, progressive activists targeted him for social-media ridicule, to the point of having to erect fencing around his house to keep the media off his property.
It’s an utter nightmare for the Smiths, who confirmed that the suspect in their daughter’s rape was the same person who committed the second sexual assault. The perp is 15 years old, but one has to wonder why crimes like forced sodomy and forced oral copulation are being handled in juvenile court at all. These are not the stuff of juvenile poor judgment, but the actions of a predator already forming. The second assault proves the point, and both cases should have gone to regular court forthwith. That would not only provide at least some deterrence, but it would also have informed Loudoun parents about what was going on in their schools — and how much the authorities try to cover it up.
“If someone would have sat and listened for thirty seconds to what Scott had to say,” his attorney told Rosiak, “they would have been mortified and heartbroken.” I’d like to believe that, but the activists in Loudoun are more interested in their own agenda than they are in believing victims of sexual assault. They shut Smith down because of that, and because they didn’t want to be exposed by his testimony. In an earlier time, tar and feathers would be applied to such public officials, but the best we can hope is that Loudoun voters give them all the heave-ho at their next opportunity.

This is typical. I was a student during the bussing in Boston. All of the racial violence, and there was a lot, was covered up. Kids were sacrificed for the liberal ideal.

Is Loudoun a bedroom community for DC commuters? If so that explains a lot about the public officials there.
Va voters need to get off their butts and make sure clinton’s bag man isn’t elected governor. Again.
Why the heck was this rapist in a dress allowed back in school? He was arrested and charged with felony crimes yet the district didn’t deny him entry nor did the district inform parents about the incident. School officials are mandatory reported for child abuse and apparently did not report this incident to the police but instead covered it up. I hope school officials are held personally liable in lawsuits.

I believe it. We heard very few, if any, accounts from the bussed kids.

Soros’ surrogates.
Smith and his attorneys need to also review the video of his arrest and file suit against the two civilians there who helped the cop pigs hold him down! This country is ruled by cowards at all levels in all positions.
It was a horror show. If you got caught in the halls and were the wrong color, you could count on a beating.
Those two who held him down might just be getting out of the hospital if I was there.
I would not convict if I was on a jury for this father if he killed a few people. Starting with the screwed up criminal rapist.

I thought covering up or not reporting a sexual assault, or in this case a rape of a minor was itself a crime.

Northern VA is wholly owned by Fed employees, minorities, "immigrants", and Leftists (yes, I realize that crosses many lines). They out-populate the rest of the state by probably 3-to-1, at least. So when you start seeing GOP election tripe about how "Virginia is winnable this year" -- please don't fall for it.
