The CEO of a hospital system in rural southeastern Missouri warned that President Joe Biden’s announced COVID-19 vaccine mandate for most healthcare workers could trigger significant staffing shortages.
“Our reality is we need staff to work. And in return for your working, we’re not going to ask you to get a vaccine mandate,” Scotland County Hospital CEO Randy Tobler told CNN in an interview published Tuesday. “There were people in the hospital that freely shared that if the vaccine mandate happened on our account or on anyone else’s, they would not work here. That’s just something they weren’t going to put in their body.”
Noting that he’s lost about 18 percent of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tobler said that he cannot afford to mandate vaccines that would alienate even more staff. The mandate, he said, won’t make the nurses want to get vaccinated but will instead prompt them to quit.
According to the CEO, about 60 percent of Scotland County Hospital’s staff are vaccinated. Tobler said he suspects that not having a vaccination requirement allowed his facility to retain more workers.
“I criticized President Biden’s mandate,” Tobler also remarked. “I thought it was a mistake because I think it’s going to backfire.”
Many employees, Tobler added, “were pleased that we honored their right to choose what they want to do with their body, and I think that may have helped retain some staff that may have been tempted to jump to other places because of salary or what they perceive as different working conditions.”
Tobler said he’s still confused why so many nurses and other staff won’t get the vaccine, noting that many have seen someone they know die or get seriously ill from COVID-19.
But Tobler’s warning in the CNN interview comes about a month after the CEO of a hospital in rural Texas warned that his facility may be forced to close down following Biden’s announced mandate. The president said on Sept. 9 that healthcare workers who are employed at facilities that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding need to be vaccinated.
Brownfield Regional Medical Center CEO Jerry Jasper told KCBD that “20 percent … probably 20 to 25 percent of my staff will have to go away if that’s the case. And losing those workers, he said, would likely cause his hospital to shut down.
Losing Medicare and Medicaid money isn’t an option either, he said.
“It’s huge in our rural community as all the other rural communities. We all have high poverty levels and stuff like that, so a lot of Medicaid usage in our communities and stuff like that,” Jasper said.
Last year heroes that worked without any shots, not knowing anything about the virus are now today’s zeroes while knowing how to treat it and their distrust of a shot no one knows anything about.
If the disease were as deadly as Fauci and the rest try to make us believe it is, there wouldn’t be one person alive in any hospital, supermarket, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.
There is no Joe Biden’ COVID-19 vaccine mandate
Obama tied the flu vax to each facility’s Medicare disbursement rate. Iirc, so did Biden. So it’s a de facto mandate. I remember our ceo proudly announcing he would fire them within 24 hours of missing the flu vax.
“Employee vaccine mandates are treating employees like farm animals for medical experimentation.”
Funny you should mention that, because when farmers can’t achieve 100% immunity through vaccinations, they move on to the only sure alternative: culling.
We don’t normally do that with humans, but I think we’re going to see it soon.
Ignore the unlawful “mandate “ hospital moron.
Have these dweebs ever thought of simply ignoring the so-called mandate? The President has no authority over anyone outside of the Executive Branch or the military.
The “mandate” is Federal extortion: Force your staff to get the jab OR ELSE NO MEDICAID and NO MEDICARE payments.
No health institution can survive without M & M.
Good, shut the economy down. Do your part whenever possible.
Masks were the compliance check...the sheeple passed with flying colors.
Now on to the next level.
Perhaps state governors should declare an emergency exemption for “critical health care personnel”. They could have a clause that with a single negative Covid test, they are exempt from vaccination FOR SIX MONTHS.
I live in northern Boone County, saw this 8was like “uh, that’s wrong” LOL
Is this the Randy Tobler of 97.1 fame?
all these lab chiefs who allowed the covid tests to be run at higher cycles guarenteeing higher "cases" and all these pharmacies not filling ivermectin or hydrochlorquine and all these drs doing the same stupid crap withholding early treatment and when the pt is in desparate condition, put them on remdesivir and a vent.....
depopulation and big big $$$$$ and control....
and how many or our loved ones took their last breathes under these evil people?.....one doctor estimated that 75% of those that died " of covid" would have lived with proper treatment early....
well take care these “animals” don’t cull you right back, amen?
They may try that, it won't work. They cannot arrest them all, and when those like me who are sympathetic to those who refuse to get the vaccine (because hey, that is their choice in a country founded on freedom) ... then what are they gonna do?
The collapse of the Biden Administration is coming. That's really what this is all gonna be about.
Refuse to work, refuse to acknowledge Biden's so-called "mandates" and expose the FedGov behemoth for the evil that it truly is.
What are they gonna do, jail us all?
Your comment reminds me of something I read about King Louis the Seventeenth of France - when the price of bread went up because of poor wheat harvests, he ordered the farmers to grow more. When that didn't work, the next year he sent the army in to force the farmers to grow more wheat. And that was when the farmers stopped growing wheat. And there was no more bread.
I see, thanks.
