Christie was not a very impressive politician from his first foray. He was involved in some "fraud" during his first campaign and again in his last term as governor. So he's not exactly a very impressive person and has a track record of it.....In 1994, Christie was elected as a Republican to the Board of Chosen Freeholders, or legislators, for Morris County, New Jersey, after he and a running mate defeated incumbent freeholders in the party primary. Following the election, the defeated incumbents filed a defamation lawsuit against Christie based on statements made during the primary campaign.[19] Christie had incorrectly stated that the incumbents were under "investigation" for violating certain local laws. The lawsuit was settled out of court, with Christie acknowledging that the prosecutor had actually convened an "inquiry" instead of an "investigation", and apologizing for the error, which he said was unintentional.[20][21]

The *only* time I saw Christie acting like a conservative is when he took on the NJ education establishment over budgetary matters. That was years ago. You might have seen it.

Chris Christi is a has-been. He could not win an election anywhere. Republicans don’t trust him. Democrats are just using him on CNN because he will betray his former party for a little cash and airtime. He is done.

On a scale of 1 to 10,Trump rates a 2 as a politician and an 11 as an effective leader with real solutions. Biden rates a 7 as a politician and a minus 9 as a leader. Now, choose, Orange Man or Diaper Dandy

Chris Christie was given the job of transition head by Trump during the campaign. His job was to identify and vet candidates for the 2000 positions Trump would appoint to the executive branch if elected. Certainly, the cabinet nominees, and major department heads, should have been ready to send to the Senate for approval the day after the election.
One of the reasons the Trump administration got off to a rocky start was Christie didn’t do his job. He apparently didn’t believe Trump would win. The day after the election there was no vetted list of candidates for key jobs. Trump fired Christie and then ended up having to scramble to find people, interview them, vet them, and get the nominations to the Senate. As a result of Christie’s failure (intentional or the result of incompetence), Trump was forced to take many RINO’s opposed to his goals into the administration as well as people like Rex Tillerson Trump had never met.
Christie is apparently trying to ingratiate himself with the press and behind the scenes establishment GOP figures with his periodic negative public statements about Trump. Look at the man - he is a miserable failure. He has zero chance of being the Republican nominee in 2024, even if Trump doesn’t run. If the GOP does nominate him, he will lose the general election.

Christie did manage to get his BFF Christopher Wray in charge of the FBI to undermine Trump.
