On August 25, 2020, Kyle Rittenhouse was at the scene of the Kenosha riots. In the next few hours, he scrubbed graffiti, offered first aid, was threatened, was attacked, and shot three people in claimed self-defense. The situation has been covered in depth at AmmoLand. A good summation of the actions that night are here. Kyle was charged by local prosecutors in spite of voluminous video evidence of his self-defense claims. Eventually, supporters raised two million dollars for bond in Wisconsin.
On Friday, September 17, 2021, there was an evidentiary hearing in Kenosha, about what will be allowed as evidence in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. Jury selection is scheduled to start on November 1, 2021. The hearing may be seen on YouTube. The video is two hours and 36 minutes long.
The hearing was held by the Honorable Judge Bruce E. Schroeder. The view seen is from the bench. Seated at the table on the left of the screen are the prosecutors. DA Thomas Binger is in a blue suit, wearing glasses. On the right of the screen is the defense table. Defense attorney Mark Richards is on the aisle side of the table in the black or very dark blue suit; defense attorney Corey Chiriafsi is in the grey suit in the center of the table; defendant Kyle Rittenhouse is on the far side from Richards in a blue suit.
Judge Schroeder is considering several motions for evidence to be admissible at trial by prosecutors and defense. Both sides have presented their arguments to the Judge, in writing, before this hearing.

I’ve always thought that one of the funniest arguments about Kyle was that he crossed state lines. But if you actually look at the area where he lives on a map it’s like a neighborhood that’s got a state line running right through the middle of it. In other words, the whole crossing state line thing is nothing more than a technicality. And the same thing with the underage weapons possession.
There is a parallel here between Kyle Rittenhouse and Capt Issac Davis of the Acton Minutemen (1775).
Attackers were coming. They answered the call to defend.
Some may say there was no call by the mayor... who told the police and other ‘law enforcement’ to stand down. i believe these people should be charged for all the damages that night as they allowed it to occur.
Instead, Kyle was out to defend his neighbors and their businesses. He traveled ~10 miles from his home to defend the area.
THIS is what a model American citizen SHOULD DO
for those that did not stand to defend their homes... shame on you.
Kyle Rittenhouse is an American hero.
The prosecution is doing what they were ordered to do by politicos — drain him of money.
Well we'll see about that. But they do seem to be trying very hard to make the Kenosha shooting seem like it was premeditated by earlier Rittenhouse actions and it looks like the judge is shooting most of those attempts down.
When this happened, I recall one of my loony lib acquaintances being all upset that it was reported that “his Mom drove him across state lines with a gun!”
I, of course, asked the person if they honestly believed that.
Later when it became apparent that this was hysterical BS reporting this lib was just shocked that media would report falsehoods like that.
MY question was “where have you been?”
For shame, Acton, pissing on Isaac Davis, a true Colonial.
Within the past year, the Acton schools mascot and teams sports name was deemed racist by its School Committee, and “retired”. No new name has yet been found. The “Big Birds” is one suggested.
Bless him and all Patriots!
Judge seems pretty fair.
Unless the jury gets stacked with liberal sheep, there’s no way you’re going to get a unanimous conviction. This is just a DA stunt.
The prosecution is trying to remove Kyle’s liberty.
I wonder if the defense is aware that there was a guy that looked like Kyle, that was involved with an angry confrontation with Rosenblum earlier in the evening. There is video available. This is important, as it may have been a case of mistaken identity by Rosenblum (sp?).
Andrew Branca is covering this for legalinsurrection.com. He just posted his recap of the proceedings Saturday.
You may remember him from the Travon Martin coverage
Best coverage of high profile Use of Force/Self Defense cases, by far.
Well worth your time if you have several minutes to spare
that was an attack on anything relating to US history and culture as part of the CRT push by the schools and the rabid types on the left.
800+ signatures from alumni against any such change.
overruled / ignored by one person on the school committee.
outrageous.
