Ohio Republican Senate candidate Josh Mandel paid tens of thousands of dollars to a woman he was dating during his 2018 Senate campaign, while married to another woman.
FEC reports show that Rachel Wilson, Mandel’s finance director and mistress, was paid more than $100,000 between his 2018 campaign and a PAC supporting his candidacy.
It’s widely known that Mandel was in an affair with Wilson at the time. He ended his campaign citing his wife’s health, later divorcing her in 2020 to continue his affair with Wilson.
Three dozen Republican women, including three women who left Mandel’s campaign citing a toxic work environment created by Wilson in her continuing duties with Mandel’s 2020 campaign, have urged Ohio Republicans to reject Mandel, warning he’ll “embarrass” the party if nominated as a candidate for the US Senate. Mandel has run for statewide office five times in the past 12 years, with some Ohio Republicans criticizing Mandel, who has served in elected office since 2003, as a career politician who’ll put on the act he needs to in pursuit of the next political gig.

Yes and AOC and Ilhan Omar both paid their boyfriends to be consultants on their campaigns. The media has given this a tremendous amount of coverage of course, LOL
He was apparently beating the awful D Sherrod Brown in the polls for the Ohio Senate until the week before the election and then he mysteriously stopped campaigning and Brown won. Why he would seriously be considered as the R candidate for Portman’s seat in 2022 is beyond me; JD Vance is a far better candidate.

Mandel withdrew before the primary election. He couldn't beat his fellow Republicans much less Sherrod.
And hunter steals millions through extortion, shares it with his father the false president, does coke screws his niece and his brothers wife, frequents prostitutes and is a crack head. This double standard is really off the charts
I’m not an expert at Ohio politics but J.D. Vance (author of ‘Hillbilly Elegy’) looks like a good candidate from what I’ve seen of him.

That’s the million-dollar question. I was supportive of Mandel, but this stuff looks bad. His affair was the reason he pulled out of a race he was leading in over Sherrod Brown (and having that seat today means the GOP would have a one-seat majority), and that is inexcusable stupidity.
I would go with JD Vance.
Personal life aside, the GOPe has to destroy Mandel, since he’s the best Conservative candidate running. They’re going to try to supplant him with Vance, who is their Trojan Horse.
