Durham Investigates Pentagon Contractors Who Helped Clinton Campaign Plot Russia Hoax

Prosecutors are investigating whether cybersecurity contractors abused security clearances to feed the FBI false information linking Donald Trump to Russia.

Cybersecurity experts who held lucrative Pentagon and homeland security contracts and high-level security clearances are under investigation for potentially abusing their government privileges to aid a 2016 Clinton campaign plot to falsely link Donald Trump to Russia and trigger an FBI investigation of him and his campaign, according to several sources familiar with the work of Special Counsel John Durham.

Durham is investigating whether they were involved in a scheme to misuse sensitive, nonpublic internet data, which they had access to through their government contracts, to dredge up derogatory information on Trump on behalf of the Clinton campaign in 2016 and again in 2017, sources say — political dirt that sent FBI investigators on a wild goose chase. Prosecutors are also investigating whether some of the data presented to the FBI was faked or forged.

These sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive law enforcement matter, said Durham’s investigators have subpoenaed the contractors to turn over documents and testify before a federal grand jury hearing the case. The investigators are exploring potential criminal charges including giving false information to federal agents and defrauding the government, the sources said.

The campaign plot was outlined by Durham last month in a 27-page indictment charging former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann with making a false report to the FBI. The document cites eight individuals who allegedly conspired with Sussmann, but does not identify them by name.

The sources familiar with the probe have confirmed that the leader of the team of contractors was Rodney L. Joffe, who has regularly advised the Biden White House on cybersecurity and infrastructure policies. Until last month he was the chief cybersecurity officer

If I’m wrong I will happily admit it.

But Durham is deliberately slow walking this thing. He may, and I doubt even that, indict a minnow or two. But the big fish will swim happily away.

If he does indict anyone else they’ll get the Clinesmith treatment.

No fine.
No jail time.
Nothing.

It is no longer necessary to feed the FBI (Famous But Incompetent) false information. They can manufacture plenty of their own home-grown variety.

Disruptive parents at school board meetings, right-wing agitators involved in the January 6th “insurrection” (which has to be the most clumsy “insurrection” ever attempted), and various Trump Administration figures who spoke somewhat improvidently to FBI agents.

Lavrentiy Beria would be so proud. “Show me the man and I will show you the crime.”

I’m with you. Going after the “contractors” sounds lame and appears to be a dodge.

THE FBI DID THIS.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

iirc, it was published a few years ago that “contractors” were used extensively in harvesting information from federal data bases that was used in the FISA warrant

for some reason, I thought Fusion GPS was on the list of “contractors” that had access to sensitive fed data?

also, we know crowdstrike did the analysis of the “DNC Hack” in lieu of Fibbers????

I realize that he’s quite independent, but can Special Counsel Durham be fired or stopped by AG Garland? Who does Durham answer to?

“ THE FBI DID THIS.”

Yep. They found a “work around” and drove a dump truck through it. The people who signed off on it will skate.

Trump has a hell of a lawsuit against these defense contractors and they have deep pockets of money.

Defamation of character, conspiracy, etc.

Durham’s investigation is a complete farce. It started 2 1/2 years ago and nothing except some level bureaucrat. Brennan, Clapper, Strzok, McCabe, Comey are a slam dunk, but nothing.

Why would A G Garland need to do anything? Durham can run out the clock on his own. He’ll still be dithering in 5 years...

Didn’t Admiral Mike Rogers who ran the NSA during the Trump Transition become aware of people accessing classified intelligence improperly and then warned the Trump Transition Team that it was being spied on ???

From my understanding Admiral Mike Rogers has provided the Durham Team with a bunch of testimony and evidence about all the illegal activity that was going on...

Well you are probably right.

But a case that will stand up in front of a jury and be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, especially if you want to get a big fish or two takes more than convincing Sundance.

It may be a while.
