I remember asking a Tesla fanboy why Musk continues to operate in a place like Kalifornia.

Only if 100% of it’s staff moves to Texas and they vote for
Communists.

Otherwise, it could be a nice jobs boom for Texas.

Should bring in a lot of state revenue for ya.

I recall traveling through Montana, and there was a city there that was like dropping into the land of Oz it was so liberal compared to the rest of Montana. Was it Butte? I can’t quite recall.

Yep.

That’s Butte.

Nothing but old hippies and Buddhists.

Musk said Thursday that there is a "limit to how big you can scale in the Bay area."

A century-old truth spoken so clearly. Too many U.S. cities are far outdated with no hope of coming back. Their future, if they chose it, lies more with bulldozers than abusing tax payers.

It was bizarre going to downtown Austin. Daughter liked going to Whole Foods there. While outside, some hippie freaky looking lesbians pestering me to sign a petition supporting Planned Parenthood. I freaked them out with an angry argument against them. Record shop across the street full of more freaks. Restaurants with more of them. What the heck, is this Texas?

Ha ha. Yeah, I remember looking at a bunch of activist posters - I can’t remember anymore what they were about - but made a mental note that this was a different town from the rest of Montana.

Well, I am a looooong way from Texas here in British Columbia so what I know is mostly from TV. What is sad when you watch home improvement shows set in Texas is that Texans have lost their Texan twang. Everyone just sounds like everyone else in the country. I understand the forested East is beautiful and the Western plains are bleak. That again from reading books.

That again from reading books.

I haven't traveled a lot. But, I've been surprised more than once by visiting different areas of other states and seeing stereotypes squashed. For instance, going to Arizona - Phoenix and Sedona dry desert-like while Flagstaff is wooded. Same for Texas, Austin is wooded with lakes. The Eastern cities look bleak to me compared to California cities, but suburbs in Pennsylvania and Jersey are beautiful in Fall. Lots of differences within states depending on where one goes. Same for California where I live.
