Xi Jinping’s calculus as he ponders attacking Taiwan, possibly starting World War 3
American Thinker ^ | 10/08/2021 | Thomas Lifson

China’s aggressiveness in the face of Biden’s weakness could plunge the world into war. Its dictator Xi Jinping is thinking about issues that few Americans understand or even know about.

China has been violating Taiwan’s airspace with massive numbers of aircraft, including nuclear-capable bombers accompanied by fighters in recent days. But October 5th was the last such incursion, a pause that has no public explanation. The Chinese government feels no need to explain itself to its own people or to the world.

These provocations could well be a prelude to an attack against what the Beijing regime considers a rebel province. There is even danger that this testing of Taiwan’s air defense systems could accidentally trigger a war if a defensive missile or some other countermeasure is launched by accident.

Biden’s abandonment of Afghanistan, complete with the abject surrender of a huge stockpile of armaments is an example of provocative weakness – a demonstrated unreliability that encourages bad actors to believe that now is their opportunity to attack because Biden’s military is so demoralized and preoccupied with race and because he is so mentally incapacitated. Biden has just spoken of a mysterious “Taiwan agreement.”

President Joe Biden, on Tuesday, October 5th, said that he had spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping and both of them had agreed to “stick to” the “Taiwan agreement.”

The only known recent conversation between Biden and Xi took place on September 9th.  The “read out” provided by the White House says nothing either about Taiwan or the Taiwan agreement.  So we are left rather in the dark about what transpired. Even so, given Mr. Biden’s statement about the “Taiwan agreement,” his statement is extremely worrisome.

The nature of that conversation and Mr. Biden’s description was not lost on the Taiwanese or the Japanese,

With senile incompetence in the White House, what could go wrong?

Xi Jinping already has enough troubles domestically with failing companies, damage from flooding and now a critical power shortage. All that may make it difficult for the PLA to attack Taiwan because PLA personnel may be needed to help out on the Mainland.

Xi is communist blood thirsty tyrant. These people should have already been attacked from every angle of the world for what they have done. F them. If they start it then we must finish it .With or without Joe & the Ho.

Or, Winnie the Xi might need to a war to distract the Chinese from hunger, power outages, and economic collapse at home.
And a treasury to loot.

On the flip side, a “patriotic” war is always good for distracting the masses.

Who is going to stop them? No one. The world wants cheap phones and TVs. Biden and half of US politicians are owned by China.

Chicoms are nuts if they want to fight US forces.

Given the amount of autonomy that President Trump may likely have been able to implement into the military command structure, the chicoms may not get the quiet response they are hoping for from the US. In fact, I suspect the allies in the area may quickly prove that even a tiny nibble is too big a bite to chew for the execrable POS filth eating chicoms.

Just more yellow journalism by Lifson trying to stir the pot of war.

The CCP has so many problems - most of its own making, that one more, in an area in which it has no experience, would, by itself, topple the fragile and paranoid dictatorship.

RE: The CCP has so many problems - most of its own making

And that is PRECISELY one reason why it’s worrisome. In order to take the people’s minds off their problems, the CCP needs a “cause” to unify the country around and divert their attention from their internal problems towards PATRIOTISM.

What better cause than an external enemy like the USA and the evil Japan who refuses to acknowledge the Rape of Nanjing? What better cause than to take back Taiwan?

Is Xi impatient to cement his legacy and feed his narcissism as he grows older or is he smart enough to realize that the downside (what if they lose or provoke a larger war?) of taking Taiwan by force is too much of a risk?

All these machinations are occurring on a stage where the final reaction of the world towards the CCP over Covid is unknown. On top of that, the Chinese military is NOT the juggernaut they are made out to be in the West. Much of their equipment is old, they are not battle-tested and suffer from the proven communist lack of initiative in commanders, AND their Air Force and Navy are not up to par.

The Chinese are traditionally very careful, but they also have more problems than we think internally - economic and political. Going to war and angering the whole neighborhood and risking regional conflict with the US and her allies would be a very un-Chinese decision.

Such an action would also provoke a traditional enemy who is very capable and very wealthy to militarize (Japan).

Not much at all.

Pig Face Bidet wont do anything if they move and they know it.

Those countries in that region know it also. Japan especially.

Red China has a window to act and they know that also. They will move on multiple fronts using other countries to take advantage of Pig Face Bidets lack of attention span. I.E.

They'll get the NORKS to cause a rukus with South Korea.
They'll get Iran to cause another in the mid east.
They already have most likely salted enough into this country to cause havoc here...remember it took just 19 to cause great anguish here on 911.

That would work in a Western country, but not in China. The social/cultural set up would revolt when many young males who support their families and extended families are killed or maimed and cannot work, leaving their families destitute, homeless and starving, and dying without medicine they can no longer afford, worse the families would have no money to bride the doctors and hospitals for better treatment.

They would blame the CCP. Mainland China would have to be invaded for any patriotism to be aroused for the CCP to find enough troops to fight. Ordinary Chinese have no interest in taking Taiwan.

China is not going to attack Taiwan any time soon.

This is doom porn to make Biden look like a savior this fall when he “summits” with Xi.

Don’t get sucked into it.
