Trump indicates he will try to assert executive privilege to prevent House investigators from getting information

Former President Donald Trump indicated on Thursday that he will try to assert executive privilege to prevent a House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol from getting information from certain witnesses.

A source familiar with the former President's legal strategy confirms to CNN that an attorney for Trump sent letters to some of the subpoena targets, informing them of his plan to defend executive privilege. The letters were first reported by Politico.

"Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of President Trump and his administration, but also on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our nation," Taylor Budowich, director of communications for Save America and Trump, said in a statement.

Going to be interesting on how the Biden handlers respond, failure to not back up executive privilege can have repercussions for both Obama and Biden.

All the reports I heard from a number of people who left the White House after that incident was that he went down there in fear… If I recall he was very rattled and very shortly after that he was so embarrassed and upset that it leaked from some NSC officials and even made it into comedic songs and parodies and tge night monologues, it so pissed him off, he went ballistic and he had his short little strong with the Bible in the hand. There was another search incident when he came back dejected from that sparsely attended Oklahoma rally that was sabotaged by those K-pop kids on tick-tock and he was really pissed. As a side note, CNN, (yea, I know it’s CNN but they took Fox off the air here in the Philippines so I’m stuck with CNN), spent the whole hour of the Don Lemon show talking about Trump and replaying the “pussy” tape along with Republican statements after the 1/6 events.
