Strong corollary. Always has been. This was a Stanford study earlier this century. (BTW that "2012" appears to have been a typo in the chart):

“Denmark, the world’s most wind-intensive nation, with more than 6,000 turbines generating 19% of its electricity, has yet to close a single fossil-fuel plant.”
Even if solar and wind provided 100% of the power to an area, gas or coal power plants would still be required since neither solar nor wind produces power 100% of the time and both can stop producing at the same time.

If you want to create real scarcity, price controls are the next logical step. They really might do it. Or try.

Solar power panels are now more efficient....a lot of old ones are headed for the scrap yard / landfill.
For a single residence it doesn't make sense to replace old ones.
Wind powered large ones are another matter...eventually stall out (gearbox busted) or disintegrate.

I remember there was a Leftard who had a gas prices v presidential popularity blog who used it to punch down on Shrub, until by 2011 the unraveling of residential real estate financing had bottomed out into the Great Recession (a depression by any other name)
but gas prices peaked in 2011 before demand destruction built in, and Obama's economy handling number dropped to 26% and drug his approval sub-50 permanently (except for bogus 2012 pre-election poll).
Well one day -- think his name was 'gasbug' or 'gasbag' or some such but can't find his blog -- up and disappeared. His master had cratered the economy and he didn't want anyone using his work to besmirch Bobo.

Without fossil fuels, the economy collapses, and they can’t pay to perpetuate (or “address”) the Climate Crisis. It’s a pickle.

The crisis you invented?? All wrapped up in a nice little package.

Even Pervert-in-Chief Bill Clinton was smarter than Biden:
"It's the economy, stupid." Too bad the mid-terms aren't this November. I wonder what will be left of our country a year from now. It's going to be bad economic winter.
Unbelievable that Biden would take the greatest economy ever and deliberately destroy it.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. Price controls work, until they don’t.
When the socialists first took power in Venezuela, they instituted price controls on meat. For a short while everyone had cheap meat. Hurray! But now no one in Venezuela (except the elite) has any meat at all.
Are our socialists vain and stupid enough to try the same technique here? You betcha.

So they’re going to raise prices. So the White House DOES control gas prices. Now we know.
