Too much information.
Israel is our canary in the coal mine.
I question aid to ANY nation. And Israel - LOL, don’t they have any money of their own?
The global communists have thrown-in with the jihadists.
Israel and liberty-minded citizens are defined as the enemy.
I don’t want to give money to any country. Maybe if they had a natural disaster we could help them out for bit but besides that we should keep our money for ourselves
Israel has all the wealth it needs to pay for their own defense.
Obama made openly held anti Zionism ( covert anti Semitism) an acceptable position for Democrats in good standing within the Democrat Party. Begs the question why so many people continue to identify and support this party as the focus and center of their politics.
So after reading this excerpt, there are still FReepers who side with the anti-Israel crowd for many of the same reasons. Unbelievable.
Military aid to Israel is really welfare for the US defense industry. Think military industrial complex. Think Thomas Jeffersons war on the Barbary pirates.
Israel is a very tiny country, about the size of NJ, making up about 0.1% of the Middle East area. It is surrounded by 22 Arab countries. Even though it has to spend a disproportionate amount of its budget on defensive arms, it still is a technology and medical powerhouse, giving the world (including the U.S.) dazzling new technology and pioneering medical procedures. It is the only stable democracy in the Middle East and has been a reliable ally for the U.S. for decades. Israel has also been willing to do what the U.S. was not; for example, they greatly retarded the development of Iran's nuclear program with computer viruses they introduced. Yet I see FReepers making stupid, uneducated comments here about "Israel can buy their own arms", "We shouldn't give money to any foreign country", etc. Sure, we shouldn't just hand out money carte blanche to countries from which we derive no benefit, such as Haiti, Yemen, etc. but for such a staunch ally as Israel has been? Of course they deserve our support.

Really? Just let those stink-en Jews fend for themselves because we don’t need their help designing weapons (without which numerous US weapons systems would not exist) and they deserve to be slaughtered by the 200 million muslims that surround them. Yeah!
Cut off aid to Israel whilst simultaneously blockading the PLA so nothing goes in and nothing and no Muslims gets out … then wait a while.
Thank you for writing what I wanted to.
Mussies in Congress.
People who don’t want our government to send our tax dollars to foreign countries may be isolationists, but they are not “soft” anti-semites as the article implies.
Some of that “hate” comes from Jews, who never cared for the State of Israel.
Democrats! That is who and what is behind the Anti-Israel sentiment in Congress. Just like they were for segregation before anti-segregation became popular, they are for taking away military and defensive funding from the Jewish people. Just look at the people voting against it like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,Ilhan Omar, etc. It is part of the democratic platform until it starts to hurt them. Then it will stop.

It’s ironic to note that Iron Dome is Israeli technology, not US. Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries. Israel shared the technology with the US, not the other way around, and partnered with Raytheon to manufacture it here. Didn’t share it with anyone else. Now leftists and as you point out many on FR don’t want to follow through on the US commitment to provide aid to replenish Israel’s rocket supply, from a US provider, since Israel can do it yourself. Worth noting that at the same time the US promised aid to the Palestinian Authority and Gaza. No suggestion in Congress that commitment shouldn’t be honored. Or anywhere else. Aid to Israel’s enemies must not be a bad thing, despite the fact that many of them, Iran comes to mind, are our enemies too.
