Yes, she could, unless local authorities saw changing that as a means to create a tragedy that they could exploit.

I used to live in Tx. Using an expired driving license is accepted, to get a new one. In fact, it is sorta like a passport — when you get the new one they punch holes in the old.

This is BS.

The Dims are getting smarter. They found a black woman too old to make sure her ID was current to buy at the liquor store. LOL

School registration or baptismal records or an original social security card can serve in place of a birth certificate in some states. I notice there’s a two-tier system of licenses coming in some places. The ordinary license can serve as ID and let you drive, but a license with a higher degree of verification can allow you to fly without showing a passport. She may or may not be able to get the license renewed without qualifying for the new higher level license. In any case, as others have noted, in Texas, her expired ID can serve as a voter ID.

To get a copy of your birth certificate from Texas Department of State Health Services - Vital Statistics Section, you must have been born in the state of Texas. You need to submit identification that meets our ID requirements; complete an application online, by mail, or in-person; and pay the appropriate fee.

A second take IF ANYBODY IN THE TEXAS GOP IS READING!!! Or if anyone here knows anyone in Texas.

The local Republicans should give her a call and send around a car and a local GOP operative with a reporter in tow to walk this lady through the process of getting her records fixed.

Problem solved.

Make it clear to the reporters that this is a simple and straightforward process, and the only reason for doing what the democrats are trying to do is to enable massive vote fraud.

Do it. Today. Seize the opportunity.

Well this just proves that requiring voter ID is racist.

/sarcasm

For voters ages 70 and over, an otherwise valid form of ID may be presented when casting a ballot, even if it’s expired, according to the office of the Texas Secretary of State.

If a voter does not possess or cannot reasonably obtain one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID, the voter may file a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present a supporting form of ID, such as a bank statement, current utility bill, paycheck or government check.

Has she even TRIED to get a copy of her Birth Certificate? I was able to get a copy of my Dad’s BC when he was well into his 90s.

This is a typical tactic of the Left. Find an extremely rare example of a person that for some reason is unable to meet the requirements for whatever, and use that to argue that any requirement is too restrictive.

The entire country now knows of her delima. Cant she use some of this new found contact to renew her DL.

If she plans on dying this is all a moot point unless she wishes to continue voting democrat.

Nice old black lady oppressed by nasty white men.

The only things missing from her discrimination/oppression profile is lesbian and muslim.

My Mother had the same problem, BMV took her license because she couldn’t produce her BC, after many attempts writing letters and email we gave up. Long story she passed at 96yo.

If she’s too stupid to figure that out, she is waaaay to stupid to vote.

I’m sorry, was that mean?

Maybe we need to be a little bit meaner about this.
And by the way, what does her skin color have to do with it? There are extremely stupid white people too. Has nothing to do with anything.

Notice that even in the excerpt it doesn’t say she can’t vote.
All it says is that she’s “worried” that she can’t.

Can’t she use her expired drivers license as ID to renew her DL?

Or to vote. And if she is over 70, she can use utility bills.
