China warned that World War Three could be triggered 'at any time' on Tuesday after it sent dozens of warplanes into Taiwan's airspace.
An article in the state-backed Global Times newspaper said that 'collusion' between the US and Taiwan was so 'audacious' that the situation 'has almost lost any room for manoeuvre, teetering on the edge of a face-off.'
It claimed that the people of China were ready to back all-out war with the US, which backs Taiwan, warning the island nation against 'playing with fire'.
Taiwan, a democracy which considers itself a sovereign state, urged China and president Xi Jinping to put a halt to 'proactive actions' after nearly 150 Chinese warplanes breached Taiwan's airspace since Friday, including 56 jets on Monday in a dramatic increase in aggression.
Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen on Tuesday vowed to 'do whatever it takes' to guard Taiwan against invasion as she indicated that without help from the country's allies 'authoritarianism has the upper hand over democracy.'
Meanwhile, Britain's HMS Queen Elizabeth was shown in pictures sailing in the Philippine Sea in a joint exercise with two US aircraft carriers - the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Carl Vinson - and Japan's helicopter destroyer JS Ise.

It started with covid and the lockdown of “free” people all over the world IMO.
Chicom bump for later.....
At least we have a competent commander in chief. Way to go America!
Ping.
And THANK GOD no mean tweets that might trigger Xi and the CCP into WW3. Sleepy Joe voters and enablers will soon learn that one can start WW3 without mean tweets.
And equally great military leadership.
One Ohio class sub ends China. We have what, 12?
Bring it, Winnie the Pooh!
Hopefully, the Taiwanese have a nice plentiful stock of MANPADS. The MANPADS are a lot harder to find and they can be relatively plentiful for a reasonable cost. They can make strike missions very unpleasant.
Told ya.
they wont be flying low

They start a war. Then how are they going to pay for it when the rest of the world quits buying their junk?
Some of us still remember ‘made in Japan’, ‘made in Taiwan’, ‘made in (S) Korea’, ‘made in Mexico’ ...
There are plenty of other places to get junk from.
You can still do a lot of damage to helicopters and they will be a significant part of the invasion force.
The Three Gorges Dam supplies 40% of China’s electricity. Destroying it kills over 400 million Chinese.
If it does happen it will like something we haven’t seen since WW-II. I don’t think the American people will stand for massive casualties on our side.
Biden would get dragged along by the military-industrial complex types who actually run the country now. His input will be marginal at most. If Trump was there instead, he would have called Xi’s bluff earlier and this would not have escalated.
Taiwan is not worth a nuclear holocaust or some last gasp deployment of an EMP over North America. But it’s out of our hands. Stock up fast if you didn’t already. I don’t think the chances are high, but they have risen past the usual very low category, for a prolonged public emergency.
As China economy continues to tank, the war rhetoric and threats will escalate.
