I believe there are Nike owned/licensed stores in Israel which I assume aren't impacted so this isn't a Ben and Jerry action.

Correct. This is about squeezing out the middle man and little guy.
Israel’s retail is dominated by small independent shops, not big box retailers.
That said, Nike is a horrible corrosive company and I advise buying anything else.
