Alaska allowing hospitals to ration care as virus cases surge © Istock The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHHS) on Saturday activated crisis standards of care for 20 hospitals in the state as it struggles with the latest surge in COVID-19 cases, with some hospitals resorting to having to ration health care.

"Today’s action recognizes that Alaska has an interconnected and interdependent health care system, requiring the need for activation of the State’s decision-making framework. That framework includes a progression of conventional, contingency and crisis standards of care identifying strategies to be used depending on the situation and types of resource shortfalls being experienced," the state health department said in its announcement.

>> hospice care so they could treat and save them!

Hospice care is the exact opposite of ‘saving’ them. By definition:

“Hospice care provides compassionate care for people in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible.”

Nobody takes people out of the hospital to have them treated and saved ‘in hospice’. People leave hospitals and go into hospice care when they prefer to withhold treatment and die at home (covid or not).

>>Except one problem is self-induced and the other is not.

Really doesn’t matter - either way, you DO NOT want to end up in most hospitals right now - for anything.

The shortages of health care works was occurring WAY before the vaccine firings, the firings make it worse of course.

Nope not in the situation we are talking about. These are people who are being killed by hospital protocols, hospital won’t release them so they use the “hospice” approach to get them released, then take them home and get the proper medicines for them.

This is a ploy that has been forced to be used a few times in the whole covid crises. (Or at least threatened to be used along with threats of lawyers if the hospital won’t release them when hospital ignores family’s request for certain treatments).

Only 49 covid vent patients in a state of 729,000.

Their capacities are all normal.

If anything, the real story is a severe staffing problem.

The media is a joke.

Really doesn’t matter - either way, you DO NOT want to end up in most hospitals right now - for anything.

But it does matter. If this was really the crisis you suggest it is, then there would have been a work-around to allow healthcare providers to stay without getting the shot.

(If a shortage of anything is that bad, there would be states of emergencies declared in the various states; once a state of emergency is declared, all sorts of rules and regulations can be bent or kicked to the curb until the state of emergency has passed.)
