What went wrong after that was when leaders in our country lost sight of that very direct and important mission and instead began to embark on regime change, wars and nation-building exercises. And as we have seen over last 20 years in Afghanistan, specifically, even senior leaders in our government across Democrat and Republican administrations did not know what your mission there was.

Spot on. Our mission there was deterrence - visiting someone at home an breaking his legs for what he did back here in our country. That was it. That was all. We proved that even we don't have the strategic reach to fix some spot in the middle of a dry mountainous land on the other side of the world.

No, they didn’t. The “mission” was to spend as much money as possible making contractors and defense contractors rich beyond their wildest dreams while at the same time doing as much damage to America as possible.

Gabbard is seeing that the Biden regime is quickly crumbling and that the Squad and their ilk are pushing the Democrat party off the cliff. She also knows that should Kamala become POTUS the Democrats might become extinct. While I do not trust her, she is setting herself up to be a voice of sanity in the party and a new party leader when the rest of the party leadership is gone.
