A new documentary looks into the life of a little-known queer Black legal scholar who refused to surrender her own bus seat β years before Rosa Parks β and influenced Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Driving the news: "My Name is Pauli Murray," set for release today on Amazon Prime, is the latest in a series of films examining the life of pioneering Black Americans who tackled systemic racism decades ago.

I think I’ll be cleaning my guns that night.
This documentary seems to be rife with speculation....lots of weasel words in this fake news piece to describe what the producers HOPE she was like....
Just a simple example:
“Between the lines: The film depicts Murray through various mental and physical struggles as she battled barriers.
She left few clues about her views on LGBTQ rights.”
If virtually no one has ever heard of this person, then this person is not historically influential or important. Moving on.
.....who gives a rat’s a** about this person....but, good idea.... I have several guns I have taken to the range lately that need good and thorough cleanings...thanks for the reminder....!!!
LGBTQ = Let’s Get Biden To Quit
This is as meaningful to me as a van, carrying people I’ve never met, and an “I Love My Poodle” bumper sticker.
Two deities from the Woke Pantheon are celebrated with double the propaganda.
The heathens must be taught to obey the Word of the Gods!
Oh my ... π
Couple things. Rosa Parks was a Communist who trained for two weeks at the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee which was funded by the Soviets and run by Myles Horton who was a member of the CPUSA. Her “brave” stand against giving up her seat was a staged publicity stunt, not some spontaneous courageous act because she was “tired”. MLK also trained at the Highlander Folk School as well. They were both Communist agents. But are now deified in our society.
“.....who gives a ratβs a** about this person”
But the articles a good exercise in intersectionality: black, queer, scholar, and female. Wowee!
No thanks. More info than I need.
Has never been on my radar, and will not be on my book list.
I used to live in Durham, NC. They never shut up about her.
A “scholar” these days is a Pfascist leftist agitator and propagandist who thinks math is racist.
“The issue is not the issue, the revolution is the issue.”
Good info. I didn’t know @ that. Thank you very much!
Yale, in its wisdom, decided Calhoun College should not be named for a confederate and renamed it Pauli Murray College.
